Blue Berries In Winter

We saw this shrub the other day
With berries that were pretty blue
Out came the Nikon from my purse
What was this bush? I wish I knew

Against the wall of "The Olive Garden"
It grew unkempt and wild
And as we went inside to dine
It really made me smile

I asked a waitress passing by
What the shrub could be
She said she'd never noticed it
But now she's curious to see

The meal we ate was wonderful
Our trip had been so merry
And as we ate I had to wonder
Would the birds eat those blue berries?

I said to Phil "Our friends will know
As soon as we get home"
A girlfriend knew; it's in her yard
So then I wrote this poem

So can you guess what this shrub is
With berries brightly blue?
Come back tomorrow, when I'll say
Or else you'll wish you knew.

We like to eat at Olive Garden, but it always has a long line here. The last time we decided to sit it out, it was 1 hour. Why don't they build another one here?

I have to agree with Betsy and say Juniper, but I'm guessing. I wish we had an Olive Garden restaurant closer to us -- the nearest one is an hour away. I like your poem and will be back to see the answer.

Always good to have your camera ready and I love your poetic plea for information! I'm glad Betsy and George identified it for you because I have no clue. I do enjoy eating at the Olive Garden ... those bread sticks are my downfall ;-)
Hugs and blessings,

i guess it is an evergreen bush, I have seen them before but don't know exactly what it is, the birds will eat the berries but we should not. the poem is really good, who would think it?

Oops, since I have already read your other post the mystery is no more. I haven't been to an Olive Garden in ages, we do live in a really small town.
