My Eye Was On The Sparrow

I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

While driving along today, I spot movement in a bare tree. It is frigid, below 25 degrees, so what could all the commotion be? I'll just take out my zoom lens camera and see what's up. Lovely song sparrows, all puffed up from the cold! It was too cold for them to sing, but some kind person had provided them with enough food to keep them hopping. When spring comes, listen for the many sweet tunes of this cheery little bird, who will sit outside your door and sing his heart out.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. and even the very hairs of your head are numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Matthew 10:29-31

The little sparrows are so cute but they do look cold when they are all puffed up. Glad to hear they have plenty of food to get them through the cold spell.

I used to have a cassette tape with Eye on the Sparrow on it, now I'm trying to remember who sang it. Joni? I can't quite remember, cassette tapes seem so long ago.

It's wonderful how creatures can change their size at will!

I feel bad for the animals here in Florida that are so affected by the cold. One day this week I'm going to drive up to the power plant and see all the manatees who have gathered there to be in the warm water.

Did you hear about the iguanas falling out of trees here in Florida because they are so cold?

Lovely post ... wonderful sparrow photos. I'm reminded how his song quite literally kept me ALIVE when my husband of 21 years left in 1989 shortly after my mom died suddenly and my health failed. Dark times back then but I listened to Amy Grant almost non-stop and relied on my Bible and journal ... taking one step at a time as best I could.
Hugs and blessings,
