At The Crossroads

What's wrong with this picture? How about a duck trying to cross a busy street? We have many ducks in our area, and the first picture is a sign a couple blocks away, where this duck was. My sweet husband did not want to slow down for these shots, because he was afraid the duck would be run over and he did not want me to see. I think Mr. Duck survived to waddle another day. He was going away from the river, so I wonder why he needed to cross? What makes ducks special to me? They are helpless, with seemingly no defenses. Most animals have some form of defense, camoflauge, or warning color. So Mr. Duck had better look long and hard before crossing. Not bad advice for all of us.

This is what the Lord says:
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls." Jer. 6:16

Hi Ginny, It always scares me to see any helpless critter on or near the road... I don't want to see any of them hurt or killed.... Glad your little duck-friend made it okay!!!! Cute sign!

Have a great Wednesday.
Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Ginny,

It is always scary to see some small creature trying to cross a busy street. I hope the little duck made it safely.

The little duck in my photo today doesn't have to worry about streets or predators, he is inside a large aviary at our local park.

Hope you had a good birthday celebration.

Judy

Wonder why the ducks walk to the river when they could fly? Or is it just when their babies are small?

What a cute story! And great pics, too! Don't think I've ever seen a duck crossing sign!

I like the Scripture you chose for this post. You do a great job with that!

so does this mean your snow has melted? or are these from your archives. I love ducks and we have many waddling accross our streets while we all sit patiently in our cars waiting for them to cross. soon they will have their babies waddling along behind them which always makes me smile.
