The Heart Of The Matter

When we moved into our house twenty seven years ago, our son was thirteen years old. We had never had our own yard before, and he wanted to plant something. He went to the local garden center, bought these parrot bulbs, and planted them out back against the house. That was so long ago and far away. A new house and a son in new adolesence. Everything bright and shiny. And now, almost thirty years later, we are all looking and feeling so much older, but not the parrot bulbs. They continue to remain the same every year, and remind me of a time of hope, new beginnings, and a boy becoming a man. Your mom loves you, Mike.

"You were wearied by all your ways, but you would not say 'It is hopeless'. You found renewal of your strength, and so you did not faint." Isaiah 57:10

Oh how sweet. They grow up so very quickly and as they do the memories that we created seem so much dearer.

Very sweet post - the one in the middle reminds me of my dad.. singing to my mom about a bee playing in the puddle in the middle of a tulip.

Ginny, I love that verse. I don't believe I've ever noticed it before.

Beautiful flowers.

The parrot tulips are so pretty - and hold such special meaning for you. They fit in the category "Priceless Simple Pleasures," don't they? As the mother of two adult sons, I know their worth to you!

Your header is beautiful, too!

What lovely memories, the flowers have continued to grow and bloom along with you and your family.

The parrot tulips are gorgeous flowers, they are very similar to a tulip I have in my yard. I love your macro shots of the center.

Before I forget again, your header is gorgeous. The white blooms are an eye catcher.

Wow Ginny.... Glad I didn't miss this one... Those blossoms are fabulous... That's what spring does---brings new life to all of us... We do get older--but spring comes and refreshes us!!!!!! Amazing how we relate beautiful flowers with things which have happened in our past... That is so neat. When you see those beautiful blooms, you will think of MIKE... How special is that!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
