This Is A Real Gem

We were on our way to the drugstore a couple days ago, and look what we saw! It was parked by the highway because it was for sale, so I just had to stop and take a look. So cute! No, it's not a golf cart, it's an actual car. It's a real GEM, which stands for Global Electric Motors, a company owned by Chrysler. It's an electric car, which are street legal in all states. There are several different models, which can seat from two to six people, and prices start at about $7,000. You can even get one with a pickup style bed. They don't go much faster than 30 MPH, so can't be driven on the interstate. My last picture is when we finally got to the drugstore. In the foyer, we saw this little car shopping cart for kids to sit in. I thought it was too funny, because it looks just like the GEM electric car! The GEM can go up to 30 miles on one charge, and you just plug it into a regular household outlet. A full charge takes only six to eight hours. What do we do when we've gotten run down and need charging? Elijah called out to God in prayer and asked him to let him die. He was really at the end of his rope, and only God knew how to re-charge him. God let him rest, and had angels feed him. Then he gave him a new friend as support. When Elijah went running, God said to him "What are you doing here, Elijah?" So maybe when we are totally lost, we should pray "What am I doing here, God?". And I just bet he'll show us.

Cute car! Would you believe I just read the story of Elijah night before last? Isn't it neat how God reinforces His truths in our lives? I like the part of the story that tells how God spoke in a still small voice! It's that Voice that recharges us!

The car is so cute but tiny, its not much bigger than the little shopping cart car, too funny. They probably would be very economical for someone who only drove around town.

I really love the photo of you taking a photo of the car's mirror. I agree with bird girl, you have a gift for looking at everyday things and turning them into devotional writings.

Very nice series of pictures! I see your reflection in the second one, too... ;) And I agree with the others who have commented here, you're very clever with putting pictures and words/thoughts together.

Hi there! Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment on my blog. What a "gem" is right! How funny - and how similar those two "cars" are!!

Neat Ginny..... There's one of those (or something similar) here in the Fairfield Glade. They call it the "Smart Car".... It would be nice for someone who needs to drive to the store or to run errands.

I saw a photo though (made it's way through the internet) of one of those which had been smooshed by two 18-wheelers... Yipes!!!!

YES--we do need to recharge our batteries. Sometimes we all try to do too much --and don't take time to 'recharge'...

Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

thanks for the smile, adorable car, and you and i would be safe and sound if everyone drove one of these, not big cars or trucks to scare us silly. the car in the store is exactly the same, except for color. love it and i am glad to be back. i missed you a lot

What a car! And, I love the comparison grocery cart. Clever.

Ginny, I've updated my blog today regarding my little friend, Jillian. She's undergoing heart surgery on Wednesday. Would you please pray for her and also put her on your prayer chain list? Thank you so much!

Best,
Bonnie

There is a similar vehicle here in the Glade, although I have never seen it out on the highways. I agree with the others about the quality of your devotional writings.
