Appearances Can Be Decieving

This yellow flower may not be
exactly what you think you see.
So tell me now what is your guess.
On my next post I will confess.

The leaves aren't dandelion leaves. Maybe a tiny yellow daisy?

Thank you for your kind comments and concern. Diagnosis can be a slow process...we go on.

The leaves don't look like an herb..but this appears to be more like a yellow type daisy? That's called a stab, ha. Sometimes I see yellow variations of the same along side the road when I'm heading up into the mountains, Hmm..

O.K. I did know that they were not dandelions. I am thinking they are some type of an herb...but I'm not sure. I think that somewhere in my brain I have this answer...but I just can't seem to bring it to the surface. I can't wait till tomorrow to find out what they are.

Well I can see that it is neither coltsfoot nor dandelion (which I have recently had posts on myself, as you know).

My Swedish Flora is full of yellow flowers not unlike them. Many of them have more than one flower on the same stem though, or the leaves are different. From my book, I'd say yours most resembles the Hieracium pilosella. Looking that up in Wikipedia I find the English name to be Mouse-ear Hawkweed, so that will be my guess. But of course you may also have other similar plants there that do not grow here.

Ginny, I don't know what these beautiful flowers are called, but we have them here, too! I'm sure some call them "weeds." I'll look for your answer!

To answer your question about the lines in my post: those words are from an old hymn "God Leads Us Along" - one of my favorites. Most of the time, but not always recently, the last lines of my posts are from a song.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I know they are not dandelions, but that's about it. They are definitely some kind of wildflower (and very pretty at that!).

Well I'm sure it isn't a common dandelion. I have to agree with Dawn T. on the Hawkweed although I'm not sure about the variety.

I'm looking forward to your post to find out more about the pretty flower.

I forgot yesterday but you asked about a flower I posted last week on Squirrel Eyes. It is a dahlia, one of the prettiest varieties I have found.

Groundsill is my guess.
