Two Mysteries

Aren't these little flowers pretty? They are a vine, and the blooms are tiny, about the size of my thumb. In size and shape, they remind me a bit of bleeding hearts. They are growing in our back yard by the storage shed, and we've never seen them before. They are a mystery, because we don't know what they are, and have not been able to identify them. Phil thought they were grapevine blooms. But I looked that up, and it looks nothing like these little flowers. So now that you see our mystery, do you know what it is? My money is on Judy and Monica. In exchange for trying to solve my mystery, I'll tell you another one, the mystery of a lifetime.

"Listen, I tell you a mystery: we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed-in a flash , in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we wiil be changed...Death has been swallowed up in victory." 1Cor. 15

I think this is Bittersweet - it's part of the Nightshade family. A few years ago I saw it in a field and fell in love with the pretty flowers - so unusual. It took me ages to find the answer and I think it's the same vine.

I agree with Stephanie, that looks like Bittersweet Nightshade. It is sometimes called Deadly Nightshade although the toxin isn't fatal.

Just make sure the girls don't eat the berries. It could poison a child if they ate a lot of them. Otherwise it is a beautiful plant.

I will be waiting for the mystery of a lifetime.

Doesn't look like anything that grows wild around here.

I have seen the flower before. I think it is some type of a weed.

I love the way you find a scripture for every blog post. It's just nice.

They look like little birds beaks ... if it is bittersweet you will have some pretty orange berries in the fall.

Well ---if Judy says it's Bittersweet Nightshade, I'm sure that is exactly what it is... Isn't it nice to know all of these SMART people???

Hope you have a great Father's Day.
Hugs,
