Testing The Waters

Watch me! You have to test the water like this first.

Oh man! That's COLD!!

But I'm getting used to it, come on in!

Now to get down to some serious water play!

Going so soon?

Today we got our sprinkler pool and water toys out. I can hardly believe that it's almost August and we are only now dragging out the water toys! Ella had brought her bathing suit and couldn't wait. Of course she remembered to test the water first, and this did not escape my attention. Life is a series of tests, some that we are very aware of, and some that just pass us right by, unnoticed. Sometimes I feel that everything is a test, and I must get a passing grade. Then again, maybe I just need to lighten up.
"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will recieve the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." James 1:12

I agree, life is a test. We need to pass it with flying colors. What a wonderful parallelism. Little Ella is so cute too.

The theme song from Jaws comes to mind with your header. If only Jaws had been that cute in the movie. What a great time you're having.

Cute little Ella - and thanks for the words of wisdom regarding passing a test or just simply lightening up. I think I need the latter today!!

Ginny, this is terrific! She looks so cute! I can just imagine what's going through her little head! What a time to treasure! I understand perfectly too..I get so intense about stuff and desire closure upon leaving but realize as time moves along, I may not? I mean I look at my earthly family for example..it isn't the way I would of imagined things would of turned out (I'm still praying and trusting Him)..yet everyone at some point made their choices..contributing in effect- to the shape it would take? Hope you don't mind me rambling! It often feels like a test to me? I've had to learn the hard way, but did learn a thing or two- thanks be to God! I love that scripture!
Almost forgot..I used a language translation for individual words on-line. One blogger (Russian speaking) expressed it was still difficult even with the translator above my posts (I'm pretty certain this was wordy posts though). Another (Polish) has mentioned gratitude for the words. I haven't yet heard from my Russian friend, but should? Thanks-

I've never seen or heard of a sprinkler pool. Guess you get the lawn watered at the same time then! Great pictures.

Reading the other comments I see I'm not the only one who didn't know about sprinkler pools. They is a great idea and Ella makes it look like lots of fun.

I have to agree that a lot of life is a test but we also need recess too!

Ginny, feel free to print out my photo of the blue flower. If you need a higher resolution photo to get a better print let me know and I will email it to you.

I have not seen a sptinkler pool. You have to turn the water on all the time?

I just posted on mu school's pool which is solar heated. May be you should also heta it this way so Ella doesn't get cold.

Re: the bridge opening, I was really pleased we went. My husband, an engineer wasn't very keen, we had to rush after church, and he said the weather was ominous.

I told him, this is probably the only time in our time we went to walk on a bridge like this.

Re: The tall tree. I am sorry I have no idea what that tree is. Part of the bark is gone, I told it is an Australian eucalyptus tree, the leaves are too high up for me to examine.

I do not know the birch tree except when I was in school, we sang, land of the sliver birch, home of the beaver. and quite strangely. the music director was teaching this song. My room is just opposite his, and I hear his music. I was quietly singing, dip dip and swing.

You would know this song of course?

The yellow bell like things are lights. They flashes so people can see from far away. I always enjoy movies where we see people driving right past the lights.

Hi Ginny, I loved your post! Ella is adorable and that pool with the spinkles is great, I have never seen a kiddy pool like that! I too can't believe it is almost August. I owe you a few answers...Bernie, the man bowling is my step father. He is a riot but not in the best of health. The book I am going to try to read in my spare time LOL is a nonfiction account of working search and rescue.. the names have been changed to protect them but the dog's names are real.
I have been a tad busy at work and on the road a lot this week! I hope all is well.. Again, your post today was awesome I needed to read James 1:12 tonight.
