Come Fly With Me

Come, my followers, and fly with me
For it's mountains and valleys that you will see.
The wind is still, the air is clear
Come fly away with me, my dear

Come deep down into the Shennandoah Valley, surrounded on all sides by blue mountains. Come into this perfect field on this perfect day, and fly with Phil and I as he takes his remote controlled glider on it's first flight. Today the mountains sing for joy, and the butterflies shimmer as they dash through the sunlight. And just for today, we will release the cares of the world, lift up our eyes to the hills, and go soaring, lighter than air, no fears, only calm and beauty all around. Come...

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31
Bob and Sandra, you were both there in my heart.

Oh what fun! Looks like a beautiful day for a fun hobby. The mountains in the distance are magnificent. This is one of my favorite Bible verses also. Enjoy your Thursday.

Oh wow, that big open field is perfect for r/c planes. Here it's rare to see that much space without power lines everywhere.

Ginny, you said almost exactly the same thing I did about the octopus mural. I love it.

The car and guitar are two separate cars that were at the car show last weekend. I didn't think of the song until I was going through the photos yesterday.

Oh, that looks like a lot of fun.

By the way, I don't think you know how daring Betsy and George really are. I've heard of some of their escapades. :)

Good morning Ginny,

This looks like tons of fun! I believe you also askd me about my favorite episode of the Addams Family?? Well, the Addams clan predates me only slightly. However, I remember The Munsters and Gilligan's Island quite well, mostly because of repeats!

Looks like fun. Ginny, did you have a go at controlling? What a big field so your plane won't crash into trees.

Ha----Neal is RIGHT... We have had some interesting experiences through the years!!!!!

WELL---glad Phil is officially a pilot now... I'm sure he was grinning from ear to ear. What a perfect place to fly his plane.... You got some great pictures...

Too bad you two couldn't jump in that plane and fly freely with it... I love seeing it ---and hope that there are many more successful flights....

Tell Phil CONGRATS...
Hugs,
Betsy
P.S. Perfect field there in the valley!!!!

My brother had one when he was little - until my uncles took it out and flew it into a tree!! How are you my dear??

That looks like fun. My brother built model planes as a kid but they weren't the flying kind.
Good to see that Phil has got his wings, so to speak.

It looks as if the first flight was a wonderful success. It also looks as if Phil is loving every moment of it.
Thanks for these very happy pictures.

..teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait!" Oh baby, that's not something I do well, I want everything yesterday!

The pic of Hubby and the glider are great. Farm Boy was on the mall Sat. night when we were in the city and we passed by a remote controlled helicopter display when I hear him turn into a three year old sayin' "I want one!" Heeeehehhe!!! Boys will be boys.

God bless you beautiful day! :o)

This is the only sane way to fly these days.... wide open spaces and no cramped quarters or overhead bins or long security lines.

It looks just the way you've described it! Really picturesque- what a beautiful spot. I never made over to visit last night as I was getting nudged to watch a late night movie. Hey, I think your photos are fantastic (pretty header) and so is Phil's hobby- I'm sure he was enjoying this tremendously! Did you have a picnic? I could picture it here-

Wow - those pictures are beautiful. What amazing scenery.

Oh, yes, I'll come flying with you :-) It looks beautiful there and I bet it was exilerating to watch your glider soar! I love flying a kite, even though I've not done it for a while, but for that you need the perfect wind :-)

Lovely post. Thanks for making me smile. Hello to your Phil! Did he make the glider himself?

My eyes checked out ok - just floaters and he said to call him if it gets worse, but said eventually the brain will adjust to this and I won't notice them too much. I hope so!

Have a lovely evening,
Doris and Gizzy :-)

Ahhhh! Flying!!! Nothing quite like it. Got my private license in 1989 and one of my first solo training flights was from Morristown, TN to Bristol (Tri-Cities) airport. Biggest problem these days is the funds to fly since I don't own and must rent. I may have to take up the remote controlled ships since they do cost a little less. ☺☺☺

What a lovely, refreshing blog! Thank you for your visit and comments to my blog! I am now following yours. My hubby builds model planes, too! He does not have a remote controlled one yet but has fun with the "rubberband fliers" ha! Have a wonderful and blessed weekend! Hugs, Kerrie

In those pictures of the plane up in the air, it's really hard to say what size it is! Could just as well be a bigger plane, higher up...
