While The Sun Shines

We all need to make hay while the sun shines, as the saying goes. And the farmers around here do just that. They have all been very busy getting the hay made. These are actually pictures that I took last fall at about this time, and all the fields are very close to our house.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

Hey Ginny! How are you?

Great shots Ginny, both the hay and autumn colors are great. I really like the hay spider. I've been seeing hay in the fields and truck loads of hay going down the road. It's a busy time for the farmers.

I'll post here and on Ginny's blog. I found that header arrangement in a King's Landing kitchen. I'm not at all talented that way. Isn't it pretty!
I'm a bird watcher too, but I've collected enough bird stuff. I did buy bobbins and that took all my spending money. I walked through several houses but not that particular one. I need to go back. I imagine it had furniture, they all had period furniture, and when you went in the house, you were greeted with "This is the Jones house, and the year is 1930," or something like that.

As a granddaughter of a farmer, and as I spent much time on their farm as a child, I love haybales and anything else farmy. Enjoyed your post.

Your pictures are most beautiful! There's so much to see/learn about the seasons in your part of the world. Love your header too!

I have seen some like these here, but never that many. Once i went to take photos of a friends cows, her husband drove the tractor, unrolling one of these as he drove, she walked beside the roll, spreading it out, the cows all came running and ran along behind the tractor eating like crazy. i thought of that when i saw this, so photos are the pilot light of memories. I agree with Smita Great Clicks.

I want to see this for myself!! Love the one with the long roll of hay and the big cloud over it.

Those are such beautiful pictures, Ginny!!
I also love seeing the mountains I know and love.
One thing I miss since I moved away is the mountains in the fall. We normally visit our families in the summer and by the time we visit again at Thanksgiving, the colors are all gone!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful pictures with us! ♥

Those are wonderful scenes Ginny - so warm and peaceful. Just this past week I got a different picture of a hay bale. A friend of mine was driving with her mother behind a slow moving trailer with a huge load. It was dark and it had no lights that she could see. The car in front of her (her brother-in-law) swerved out successfully, but unfortunately she rear-ended the slow moving vehicle. Her mom, the passenger, was instantly killed when a bale rolled onto the car and crushed the passenger side.

PLEASE drive carefully behind slow moving vehicles!
Please pray for W. that she would forgive herself for this accident. She suffered minor cuts and bruises but I know has a broken heart at the loss of her mom. Thanks!

Hi Ginny, Well, you used one of my favorite expressions! I believe in making hay while the sun does shine! I liked the last picture of that decorated hay bale. Unique!

Have a splendid day today!

Good advice, Ginny. That saying is so ingrained in our minds, though. I pretty much figured from the post title that you'd be talking about hay. Nice photos.

I love the hay bales. One day when I was picking up Ella, I said, "Oh look at the bales of hay." She said, "Oh no, they're haybales."

Like the spider.

I've always enjoyed seeing hay bales in the field . . . farmers preparing for the months ahead. Great shots, Ginny!

We all get tired, don't we? But we must not give up doing good!

Ginny, the puppies were born at the breeders, which is one hour away. The owners (our granddaughters) will be able to see them in a few days
When the pups are weaned in 8 weeks the breeder will be selling them. After Snicker has had another litter she will be completely the grandkids'. Until then the breeders pay for all medical and shot expenses, because, technically Snicker is still their dog. She is just on loan to my granddaughters.

Ginny, beautiful landscape God has provided for us, and especially the next to last one had my name on it. ;) don't you just love those rolled bales of hay?

You captured the pictures of the hay perfectly. When the hay is made I automatically start with "hay fever"! Something in that dust just doesn't agree with me - first causes my nasal passages to turn into a running stream, then swollen membranes, then red watery eyes. At this time of year I really do Thank God for anti-histamines! ☺

I see all those pictures and I think about all the work our farmers do for us. They work hard! Love your pictures. I didn't know they made one long roll of hay like that either.

I also see a lot of those hay around here. I think they are beautiful especially with a colorful fall background. I like the last photo where it was painted with a face. Very clever.

These look like something out of a story book Ginny!! Your header is fantastic- the colors are so rich and speak.. or shout about how lovely this season is! Your so lucky to live in such a pretty place!

I love all the Fall photos and the pictures of the hay rolled up like that. What are all those string-like black things sticking out of the haystack in your bottom photo?

Judging by that last picture, the farmers have been making more than just hay.
