Today is Gotcha Day anniversary for Phil and I! For adoptive parents, Gotcha Day is the day that they finally get their child. Our own Gotcha Day is the day we first saw and touched our granddaughter. This is when we went to the airport to see her fly in from China with our son and his wife, landing on American soil. Anne Marie was a very sad and unhealthy baby, Chinese orphanages will do that to you. The word sad should never have to be associated with a baby. These are some of our memories from that day. The first picture is looking out the airport window at their plane coming in, how exciting as we watched for our very first glimpse of them, my heart was pounding!! They had all gotten sick in China and were sick on the plane as well, just so glad to be back home!! The rest of the pictures are the crowd of friends and family that surrounded them, that is me with them in the last picture. Our children had so much love and patience to give this baby, and I hope she has totally forgotten all her bad memories and only remembers her happy home. As you can see by the header, I have never seen a child so transformed and full of the joy of life.
"He gets angry once in a while, but across a lifetime there is only love. The nights of crying your eyes out give way to days of laughter." The Message- Psalm 30:5
