Set Free & Doing A Rain Dance

There were ten of us gathered together for our Fourth fireworks. We all went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner, and watched it rain while we lingered and ate. We all came back to our house, and sat around and chatted, waiting for the rain to stop. It never did. Forget the kids, the men wanted bangs and explosions. So we all went outside in the rain and set off many, many fireworks. I videoed them for you!! Unfortunately, I had my camera turned sideways so when I watched it, the fireworks were shooting out the side, not up in the air. A far from perfect night, and many mishaps, but we were feeling well and all together, and the kids had fun. We watched the girls dance and giggle amid the rain and the sparks. And that's what really matters, isn't it? For those of you who were expecting fireworks, here is a brief glimpse of the ones at the Capitol, truly stunning! I videoed it from the T.V.!!

"I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

This was a great series..we were invited out but we'd been on the road after a long day out of town so just went home. This was colorful and glad all of you had a nice time-

The weather may not have been perfect but as long as everyone is together and having fun that's all that matters. From the smiles on the girls faces it looks like a "blast"!

Besides, if it's raining we are less likely to set our yards on fire.

When I looked at the pictures of the two girls, I realize they have grown taller.. a bit different from the last time you posted up.. well, guess time really flies..
Anyway, great to read that you all had a wonderful time with the fireworks regardless of the rain.. :) It is the company that counts!

Good to know you'll had fun in spite of the fact that it raining.Coming to fireworks,I love loud explosions too!
May be I'm little ignorant but I couldn't understand the bottom phrase, whose the Son?

Anne Marie always wears that big beautiful smile... and I love the red dress she's wearing. I also liked your patriotic head piece. LOL- That's funny about taking video sideways. I can't tell you how many times I've done that. Great video of the fireworks from your tv. At first, I thought you shot them yourself and I was thinking WOW! And I thought mine were good?? LOL. I love to hear about the children having fun.. that's what it's all about. Thanks for sharing your 4th family fun time.

The Capitol 4th is always on our agenda and I thought it was especially good this year. I've actually been in person years ago. That, too, was fun--and crowded! Love the "headgear"!!

Best,
Bonnie

I love the fireworks at the Capitol. Other than that, I'm not much of a fireworks person. It's either got to be a HUGE thing or not for me. Usually like around here, it's not that much.

Hi Ginny, I too, enjoy Chick-fil-a, but we do not have a local one. You look like you all had a super time with the Fourth of July festivities. So glad! We did too! Have a wonderful day!

My sister said it was raining on the 4th and not as many fireworks around them as in the past. We had nice weather and lots of "booms". Oliver is glad it's over for another year.

Best,
Bonnie

The heat from the firworks must have had a drying effect. Glad the kids, big and small, got to have some fun after all.

Hah, funny! I love the fireworks but your little grandaughter is such a cutie!
I adore her red, white and blue; she is all decked out, isn't she?
we've had some rain here as well but mostly it seems to skirt around us; UGH! we need it so badly!

It rained here as well... in fact, we had over an inch. YEAH!!!! My favorite fireworks are the ones in Boston, coordinated with the Boston Pops. Seeing this in person is on my wish list before I die.

Sparklers were always one of the best parts of the 4th of July celebration as a child.

Hi Ginny, Sorry to hear about the rain.. We had rain that night about 6:30--but quit in time for the local fireworks here in the Glade...

BUT--seems like all of you had a great time regardless.. Who is going to let a little bit of rain destroy the show???????

Great pictures.
Hugs,
Betsy

The weather here was finally gorgeous. I'm sorry you didn't have our good fortune. It sounds like you were able to make the most of the day. Years from now your granddaugheter will remember the sparklers and spending the day at Grandma's She won't even think about the rain. Take care, Ginny. Blessings...Mary

I love your photos. The girls look like they are having a great time. The video was pretty amazing. I love watching fireworks to patriotic music!

We watched the fireworks from several cities on the Fourth, but I don't think people in any of these cities looked as happy as Anne Marie.

Friends, family and fun, the most important ingredient of your fireworks celebration was there in abundance! Way to go Ginny!

Okay - those were more fireworks then we saw here - ours were canceled due to rain!

Your girls are so cute!!!

Great video, you remember this year with the rain falling on you.

You need a conical hat. LOL, in the country, they still wear them.
