His Stripes

We went to a safari zoo with our family this week, and it was so much fun!! You drive through, and all the wild animals come up to your car so you can feed them! We went through four buckets of food. The zebras may have been my favorite. The second picture is the zebra with Phil, and the third is me feeding the zebra!! A zebras stripes are like fingerprints, no two zebras have the same stripe pattern. When a zebra has to run away from predators, their stripes make them all blend together, and the hunter is not able to single one out and gets confused. They are considered to be black with white stripes, not white with black stripes. They sleep standing up and a baby can run just one hour after being born. I loved the fact that their stripes continue right up their mane, down their legs and on their tail!
I'm on computer vacation Monday, see you Tuesday!

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5

I think I've never seen a zebra up that close! Very interesting that their tail even has stripes! Fascinating!

That looks like fun, I love to see animals close up. I had never noticed the stripes on their tails before. Great shots Ginny, I really like the close up of the eyes.

Oh I would love to photograph zebras. When Terry can walk around a park we are going to Busch Gardens here in Tampa so I can get some very different photography. Love how the animals come up to the car and you can feed them. Excellent post. Enjoy your time off. Thank you for enjoying my Pink Saturday post. Blessings,
Lynn

Did you go to the one by Natural Bridge? It's so much fun. We took Pierce there as his reward for potty training - the twins were only 3 weeks old at the time, but they went too!

What a fun thing to do with kids. I could never figure out how anyone knew whether it was black on white or vice versa. They are so pretty, no matter which.

Wow, that's close :) Are you allowed to feed the animals there? At our zoo visitors are not allowed to do that because it can make the animals sick if they get the wrong thing etc.

I love those photos. I was watching some TV show that had some zebras, and there was a mama and a baby walking by. That baby was so cute!

Such a wonderful Scripture passage!

oh how fun. I've always liked zebras, I think because they resemble a horse. How many other wild animals were there in this zoo?

Great post! Zebras are such beautiful animals, and you got lots of good shots. :)

You've even got the stripes going in your blog background, too -- how cool is that!?!

Thanks for the Scripture reminder, also. I thought of it when I first read the title of your post.

I loved watching Zebra while living in Africa. In our earliest years of residency we could buy a pass for about $20 to all of Kenya's national parks for our car which included all passengers. Needless to say, I spent many hours watching the wildlife. I was fascinated by the Zebra. They always looked fat - unless they were sick and dying. And there were hundreds and hundreds of them everywhere. Lovely.

I just found your blog today. I think it is funny we both went to a Safari very recently. My family went August 13th. The Safari I went to was in Pine Mountain, GA. I put pics of zebras on my blog too. The pigs I posted today were from the Safari as well! It's also neat how our photos both reflect Christ:)

I would never have guessed from the first photo.

Have you read the children's story of how the zebra got it's stripes?

That pestle lookilike is not for pounding things. It is used to knock a rythmn for devotees to pray. (I watched that on TV as I have never been inside a temple when they are worshipping) The worship leader knocks on the container.
