Some Strawberries For You

One must ask children and birds how cherries and strawberries taste. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Tonight is the strawberry moon, so named because this month is the very short season for harvesting strawberries. There were no clouds, so I got a clear shot of it. My granddaughter Anne Marie goes to the strawberry patch every year. As you can see, on her first trip she hadn't quite got the hang of it yet. I think her shrieks were causing a bit of ear damage to her friend, who looks quite pained, though trying to continue eating her berry. The last shot is about five years later, I believe in the same strawberry patch, and what a difference!

“But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity.”
Galatians 5

A few things have come up, so I will be off the computer for the next two days. I will miss you all, but hopefully see you on Wednesday!

Just sitting here looking at the moon - wondering why so many folks around here are a little looney! We're enjoying strawberries and even watermelon already! Hope your days off are not too strenuous!

Love the pictures and your thoughts! Sometimes He does bring fruit into our lives but through painfull ways and it's only in retrospect that you can see the way of His working. Joan

Ginny, I truly love these pictures. I used to take my little girls to pick strawberries with me back in NY state. Anne Marie is such a beautiful child, she glows from inside out. Like, you, life keeps giving me less and less time to blog and visit dear friends like you. Am going back and try to catch up with some of your posts. Take care, my friend.

Hi Ginny, Wonderful Moon photo and also excellent pictures of your Granddaughter and the berries. I enjoy Strawberries but can't eat many as I get hives at times. Have a great day and a nice coming week! I like that Goethe quote you included.

Wow Ginny...I'm so fascinated by the way the moon gets its name according to the season. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures! The strawberries in our region (cultivated nearly a 100 kms from where I live) aren't all that sweet. These ones from your patch must taste heavenly!

The strawberries will soon be ripe here. My DIL makes wonderful freezer jam from them.
