Those That Weep

Willow weep for me
Willow weep for me
Bend your branches down along the ground and cover me
Listen to my plea
Hear me willow and weep for me
Jerome Kern / Otto Harbach

Each year, I like to post the Weeping Cherry trees in our neighborhood. This year, even with all the bad weather and snows in May, they turned out better than ever! Next post I will show you the baby ones and tell you their sad history, which would make anyone weep just like these trees.

"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, when we remembered Zion. Upon the willows in the midst of it we hung our harps."   Psalm 137

They are amazing Ginny. Maybe these trees liked the bad weather.

I am going to be humming that song the rest of the evening. But that's okay since I really like it.

Have a great weekend!

I don't see many of those weeping cherries around here and I miss them--and I miss dogwood trees, especially the pink ones.

I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day surrounded by those you love and flowering trees!

Best,
Bonnie

Gorgeous cascading blooms. Love seeing all the blooms this time of the year, but the pollen is so strong in East Texas right now. People are having major allergy problems.
Happy Mother's Day...

I would love one of those in my yard! My poor cherry tree is 6 ft tall and not as wide. 3rd year lol... I water it, I fertilize it, I pray over it.... Someday....

They are so pretty. I always wanted a weeping willow tree when I was a kid, to read books under.

PS...Ginny, you asked about how the Chuck Will's Widow got named. I read somewhere quite a while ago, it's the only bird that is named for its song. In the evening, you can hear their song---"Chu quill wi do".

You Tube may have something for you to listen to, I'm not sure.
