A Small Town July

God made the country, and man made the town.  ~William Cowper

Every July, I try to do a post showing our town the week of the Fourth Of July. So here is this year's offering. I love living in a small town in every season, but especially in the summer and fall. In the summer there will be picnics, ball games, and even cake walks!  So come and walk with me two days before the Fourth!

“Then Jesus made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught in their meeting places, reported kingdom news, and healed their diseased bodies, healed their bruised and hurt lives. When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd.”
Matthew 9

Gorgeous pictures! I lived in new York city until I got married and I have seen the huge fire works show there many times...it is amazing....but give me a small town celebration anytime. I love the way my town celebrates! Less crowded and much more personal and sweet!
Blessings, Joanne

I don't think of Waynesboro as being a 'small' town --but maybe you are talking about somewhere nearby Waynesboro. Doesn't Waynesboro have about 20,000 people???? Our town is really a small town --only about 9000 people in Crossville. AND--the town I grew up in, Big Stone Gap, Virginia, only has about 5000 people at most...

Anyhow--your photos are great. I love the way some people decorate for the 4th... NEAT.

Hugs,
Betsy

Small town living is the best. I could never get used to living in a big city with all it's hustle and bustle.

I don't think there is a better place to live than a small town. However, your town is big compared to ours, but we still celebrate the Fourth in grand style.

This is exactly what I love about small towns. It's great to see the many celebrations and decorations that our neighborhoods enjoy each year. enjoy the 4th
