Here's Lookin' At YOU!

Here are the little guys who fought me for temporary ownership of the daisies. They didn't care for my presence at all,  and I was lucky to return to the car un-stung.

“ O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15

Nice such a bee, in our garden we have lots of bumblebees. They have a gentle nature unlike the normal bees.

Greetings,
Filip

Oh yay I guessed right! These are terrific photos! I'm glad you got to do the photo shooting safely :-) I got stung by a bee when I was a kid. Oh that was painful!

Very nice! I am not sure about when bees are just on flowers etc, but I know for a fact when they are in the hives, or as in hornets on the nest, do not mess with them if a storm is coming.

In fact, I was probably a block away from bee hives, and they came after me. I was not even thinking about them....and normally I could walk right beside them...well, within a a yard or so....and they wouldn't pay attention.

They were too busy.

I just love seeing critters enjoying the flowers. You got some really great macro shots of this fellow Ginny. I don't think that you were in any danger from this guy. Those big eyes and only one set of wings makes me think this is actually a type of Hover Fly. They look and behave so much like bees that it's hard to tell until you see them up close.

The cat's fountain that I have is stainless steel. It's great and the cats love it. Plastic is a problem because it does cause what our vet calls 'cat acne'. We see it sometimes at the events and tell the owners to toss their plastic dishes and water bowls.

Hi Ginny It was good that it had its mind on other things other than stinging you. Great shots

I wouldn't want to be stung by them, you're brave!!

Hi Ginny...happy Sunday to you. To answer your question you left on my bird photo blog, "no, I really haven't made a 'lifer' list of birds...there are some, yes, that I'd really like to see/spot/photograph, but I take what comes day by day.

There is one bird that they're reintroduced to our area after becoming 'extinct' for South Texas and only in Mexico mostly, and that is the Aplomado Falcon. They have set free a few on the islands just a few miles from us, but I have yet to find one. Some day.

This is Anni @ I'd rather b birdin'...just in my personal blog admin today [Hootin' Anni]. I'm too lazy to switch. :o)

Hootin Anni said...

...that should read 'THEY'VE' reintroduced, not they're. Geez

You've gotten some terrific closeups! I'm a bit afraid of bees, so it's really hard to get a shot unless I zoom in.
Have a nice day!

Glad you didn't get stung... We have LOTS of bees at our Roses --and so far, they haven't bothered either George nor I. I'm not particularly afraid of them --but wouldn't want to get stung!!!!!!

Hope you have a great week.
Hugs,
Betsy

Those are lovely. Guess I need to check my garden again for some photo shoot inspirations. I have not taken any photo shoots lately because I was busy running. Or maybe I should bring my camera when I go for a run.

I'm glad you were un-stung getting your pictures of the daisies. Your macros of the bees are pretty great as well.

You did a very nice job capturing this bee doing his thing. I give them their distance as the sting really hurts. Have not seen many around her. Just mosquitoes.
