My Dirty Little Secret

You know you live in Phoenix when the cold-water faucet is hotter than the hot- water faucet. ~Author Unknown

Many of you were right about my new faucet! This is the new one. I like it better because the faucet swivels and also I can get things under it .Thanks so much for playing!! I also really enjoyed you compliments about my housekeeping, but I have a dark bathroom secret!! You see, a few years ago we got a glass shower door, and we cannot keep it clear and pretty at all! Phil started using the squeegee a couple times a week, but it would not keep up with the spotting. It is covered with water spots to the point of being really cloudy. And NO shower cleaner we have found will work!!! I just have to keep my fingers crossed that guests will not have to use our bathroom!! Here are pictures that Phil just took a few minutes ago. (my foot is still wrapped and I did not want to limp in there just for a short snap.) Here, for the first time, the world can see my awful shower door! I found this cleaning recipe on a blog and am going to try it, but I would love any ideas YOU have!!!

Here is the cleaning recipe I found, please let me know if you have any better ideas!

For shower doors, make a paste by adding a few drops of distilled white vinegar to a cup of baking soda; apply it directly to the door (it’s nice and thick, so it will stick). Let sit for an hour, then rub with a microfiber cloth. Rinse and buff dry with a fresh, dry microfiber cloth.

With that Moses raised his arm and slammed his staff against the rock—once, twice. Water poured out. Congregation and cattle drank.

I haven't a clue. The big take away for me is that you are an EXCELLENT housekeeper. Whichever one is old is a shiny as new!

I'm with Annie, I can not tell . . . and they are both pretty faucets.

Yes, both are pretty nice and new.. but my guess is the first two are new ones! Hope I am not wrong.. hahaa...

I'm having a guess that the last two pictures are the new, they look more old fashioned and I know this is the trend. I like the last two best personally.

The last two. They are my favorites.

I like the last ones the best, but they are both so clean that it is very hard to tell!

They're both nice but I have a slight preference for the second pair :)

Very nice. We have a similar faucet.

I'm guessing the last two. The waterfall in your header is beautiful!

Love your waterfall. I think the curved facet is the new one - they seem to be all the rage.

I think the last ones too.

They both look lovely! But my guess is the first two photos are newer one. And I like the one in first photos very much!

Well it's very hard to tell because both of them look brand new. I wish the faucet in my bathroom looked that clean. I really like the second one

Very nice, Ginny. I love your header!!! My sink is like the first one on your photos.

Oh how I love that waterfall. We've seen it --but I always love thinking about all of the waterfalls we have visited.... Gorgeous header.

I guess I would say that the 2nd one is the new one... It looks easier to get the water on and off --and I love having more room to fill bottles, etc. using the 2nd one..... The last one would be my choice by far.

Hugs,
Betsy

I am guessing the second one because I know there are a lot like that now...but wouldn't surprise me for the others to be in style. I bet they would sell if someone made them.

I vote for two...but I like both.

Annie is correct: Both are sparling. I guess the send only because that is my fav altho both are nice.

Have a great weekend!

I think the first one is new, that you had it installed because you kept bumping your poor nose on that arched, tall one. I would have :)

I would guess the last two are new. My dad has a plumbing company, but we're too far away. :)
It's all pretty and clean!

If anything would work, I would think this would. Vinegar is really good for cleaning. Don't always work, but does a lot of the time.

And have you tried Lime-away? Though I have my own thoughts on it.

Hi Ginny, Lime build-up gets that hazy look on glass shower doors. I use Lime-Away, a commercial product and that seems to do the trick. Just saying. I think if you have success with your home-made recipe, go for it. Have a wonderful weekend!

I was going to suggest white vinegar. You already figured it out. :) I use it for my coffee pot and tea stains, it's awesome!

I don't know anything of cleaning but I like your new header picture.

Greetings,
Filip

Yes my header is a week old. Only one other person noticed it! All the pictures I used have been in previous posts so that may be why they look familiar.

Glad you are doing better health wise. Shower doors are not the easiest to keep clean. My house is not cluttered, but you might find some dust bunnies around.

Hi Ginny, I have nominated your wonderful blog for the Leibster Award. I will be posting the details this weekend. Have a great Saturday tomorrow!

It looks like calcium spots to me from the water. I think vinegar would help. Our shower has the ever dreaded iron stains to scrub out.

I missed that post.

My dear Ginny, your house keeping skill is way above me. I havr yet to find how to get rid of mold on the bath room tiles. Now using "methid". So far so good.

The bathroom glass? Hmm ...have you tried spray it with gkass cleaner and wipe wit crumpled newspaper? It works for me.

I love your new faucet. Yup..I find it easier to use too.

I love the faucets that can be moved from side to side. We have glass shower doors too and they are a pain to keep clean. I haven't tried the vinegar and baking soda yet but there are a couple of other things I've tried. Dryer sheets work pretty good. Wet them and scrub the doors then use a wet rag to clean off the scum. Also shampoo works pretty good. Put it on a sponge and scrub like crazy then rinse. I haven't found anything that makes them look like new.
