The Glow

“When Moses came down from Mount Sinai carrying the two Tablets of The Testimony, he didn’t know that the skin of his face glowed because he had been speaking with God.”
Exodus 34

We came across this bush of decorative fall grass in someone's front yard. I couldn't believe the beauty. It seemed to glow from within. I have never seen one this beautiful since that day.

“Every blade of grass and every leaf in the woodlands is cast into the great oven of Nature; and the bright colors of their fading are literally the flames of their consuming. The golden harvest-fields are glowing in the heart of the furnace.... By this autumn fire God every year purges the floor of nature. All effete substances that have served their purpose in the old form are burnt up. Everywhere God makes sweet and clean the earth with fire.” ~Hugh Macmillan

"The burning bush" is what came first to mind for me - not too far off the angle you took :)

This is an amazing grass, Ginny, and thanks for the description. Did you or do you know the name of the grass? Sure is a beautiful picture, I can imagine they have a lot of people stopping and taking pictures if it is this radiant all the time.

Most people would just walk by that bush and never see the glory. The same is true about many missing the Glory of God revealed everywhere we look if the scales have been removed from our eyes. Thanks for seeing the glory and the Glory Ginny! You are great at point out both, thanks.

Pampas grass. Love this stuff. It is a common decorative grass around here. Common but beautiful. We have two smaller variations of it in our front yard.

By the by, Ginny. We are zeroing in on a projected date that we will be passing through Waynesboro. Will let you know soon. So looking forward to meeting you and Phil.

We have two of those in our yard - the pampas grass - but neither one is as gorgeous as that one - even put together. Very pretty!

It looks like some ethereal, magical version of pampas grass. I googled pampass grass to be sure I had the correct name for what I was thinking of.

Along with what I am familiar with, two images labeled pink pampass grass came up also. Not nearly as striking as your photo. I never knew there was such a thing!

That is really pretty. I've always liked these kinds of grasses and have wanted some but since I'm not much of a gardener I've never tried to plant any

Yes, the bush reminds me of the glowing bush which made Abraham face lit up.. :)
