Amazing Fence Of Stumps

We could not believe our eyes when we saw this! It is a house that had a row of trees in front. They cut down the trees, but left the stumps and made a fence out of them. Sort of like a living fence! When we passed by, it was not even finished yet; it looked like they may be filling it in with some wire.

“A giant nearly ten feet tall stepped out from the Philistine line into the open, Goliath from Gath. He had a bronze helmet on his head and was dressed in armor—126 pounds of it… His spear was like a fence rail—the spear tip alone weighed over fifteen pounds.”
1 Samuel 17

It was different for me to see the fence in trees. As reena said it takes years to grow but it will take a minute to cut them out!

What a brilliant idea and how odd that this post should coincide with some trees that have just been torn up along the road from me. They encircled a house and were magnificent but the land has been sold for flats and every last tree has been torn from the ground, I could have wept.

It's very creative and quite unique but also a little sad that they cut down all the trees

really amazing and have never seen anything like it. looks like they are suing the branches for the cross pieces... very creative.. i hope the trees were dead and had to be cut down. i don't like seeing good trees taken down... odd that the trees all grew in a row... you find the coolest neatest things

I like it. But I would have liked the trees better. :)

Maybe the trees were diseased? It is a good use of what they already had!! I've never seen anything quite this unique in the way of fences!!

Best,
Bonnie

Hello on a gorgeous, spring day in TENNESSEE. Wow---after the long and bitter winter we had this year, Spring is even more inviting and lovely.

Very clever 'fence'---but why --oh why--cut down the trees???? We have a house not far from us where they cut down all of the big trees in their yard. The house (in my opinion) looks terrible now.. Oh Well.

We are now home 'again' --after our 5th trip since the end of February.... Seems as if we visited five different states --although the trips weren't planned for that reason... ha... BUT--as I always say, it's great to be home... I did publish a blog post today--so check it out when you have time. Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,
Betsy

It's sad to see all these trees cut down. But it sure is an unique idea to make a fence out of it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

An interesting idea. Course I'm not for cutting down trees, but it does make for a unique fence.

Fascinating and lovely, Ginny.

They won't have to replace the stumps in a few years.

How neat! I've never seen anything like this and these folks have made great use out of the stumps...
Very Interesting...

From the looks of the inside of the logs, it seems the trees were healthy too. I can't imagine doing this unless the trees just totally took away from the appearance of the house. And maybe that was the case.

I think the fence will be nice while it's fresh like that.... but once the stumps start sprouting feelers & then begin to decay, it's not going to look so neat. And the feelers & decay will start very quickly.

Hope the folks don't put too much work into that type of fencing. *haha*

But the pictures are pretty! Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend.

That is most certainly a very unique fence, not to mention that it looks very sturdy.

Oh my goodness, what a strange looking fence but I do like it. The trees would have been better but they must have had a reason for cutting them down.

PS, the picture of Georgia in the tulips was a cut and paste. She is not allowed outside. I'm glad you liked it Ginny.

Good idea! Must be a lot easier than uprooting all those stumps!

That is very interesting, though I do wonder why they cut down all the trees. You can always find the neatest things to post about!

That is really unusual to see. Its a nice match to the brick stones in the house.
