Trapped!

Today I have a special post for my followers who have pets. Namely, cats and dogs. Our cats kept going into a room, and marking the edge of the door. The door slams shut and they are locked in. But I came across an awesome idea! I bought a pool noodle. You can get them almost anywhere in the summer and they are only one or two dollars. I got this yellow one at Wal-Mart. Anyway, cut off a piece at least six inches long and fit it onto the door edge. The door will not shut! It will just bounce back. Happy me, happy cats.

“When Saul was told that David went to Keilah, Saul said, “God has delivered him into my hands. He has trapped himself by going into a city which has a gate with a double door held shut by a bar.”
1 Samuel 23

Great idea, Ginny... Cats like to do their own thing --but they also don't like being closed into an area when they don't want to be there.... You fixed it though... Happy YOU--Happy Cats..

Hugs,
Betsy

great idea and cheap to.. we use a whole noodle on bob's work bench. sliced one side and slid it on the work bench like your door and voila no more banging the car door on the work bench... the kitties look so sweet looking up at the yellow thing. probably wanting to paw it.

That is a great idea. I can't tell you how many times that happened when I had a cat. He was always getting himself closed in a room or a closet.

This is a genius idea! Your kitties sure appreciate it! And they look very curious with the pool noodle :-)
Usually, we have doors open and long time ago, Niko got trapped in a room. We had windows on the top floor open that day and wind closed the door. He was trapped for half day as we were out. Since then, we have put weight (scratcher, etc.) to hold the doors.

That's a very good idea, now they can go in and out all the time.

I've not seen one of these before. Would also help keep little ones from slamming their fingers in the door.

What a great idea. Of course my cats would love to see these on every door (especially the bathrooms) in the house so they could come and go as they please.

The brand name on the 'nip nanner is Yeowww! It has the best catnip of any toy I have found. I got this one on Amazon.

I have the cats kitty litter down in the basement...so never want that door shut. I just always keep a small hand towel folded across the top till it can not be shut.

Your cats look like they are trying real hard to figure out what that yellow thing is.
