The Iron

This item belongs to my friend Beverly at Lacoochee Kid.  It is standing on her mantle and has a plant in it. What is it? This is an ancient iron! The last picture is the inside of it, where you put coal or charcoal inside. Phil jokingly said " One lump for polyester, and two lumps for cotton." And let me tell you, this weighs a TON. It says it is made in Poland. All the women there must have had broken wrists. Not to mention burnt fingers.

“I urge Euodia and Syntyche to iron out their differences and make up. God doesn’t want his children holding grudges.

The Vane

I looked up, and saw this unusual weather vane on the roof of a local store. It is the first one I have ever seen with color, so pretty!

“I’m the one who gave them good minds and healthy bodies, and how am I repaid? With evil scheming! They turn, but not to me— turn here, then there, like a weather vane.”

Horsey

Look what I found at Goodwill! A cute rocking horse!

He has a mane and tail that crinkle.

Simba took a liking to him. He kissed him and stood guard in front of him. In fact, Simba decided this was his horse.

But someone was watching...

And in the end, Sunny won.

Oh, and our grandbaby liked it just fine!
Can you believe we paid ten dollars for him? I'm loving it!

“Are you the one who gave the horse his prowess and adorned him with a shimmering mane? Did you create him to prance proudly and strike terror with his royal snorts? He paws the ground fiercely, eager and spirited, then charges into the fray.”

Burning Up The Yard?

                    What is going on here?

Anne Marie is in our front yard with a magnifying glass.

Her dad has just this minute taught her how to set things on fire with a magnifying glass and the sun. Can you see the smoke coming from the wood?

Quick as a wink, she had burned about five holes into this wood chip.

Back in the house, she is showing her little sister what a magnifying glass is. What a good big sister!

“I saw something like a sea made of glass, the glass all shot through with fire.

Last Night

“I saw another powerful Angel coming down out of Heaven wrapped in a cloud. There was a rainbow over his head, his face was sun-radiant, his legs pillars of fire.”

The Shearing

Well, you were all RIGHT! We went to a sheep shearing! The day started out beautiful, and quite a few people were there.

The couple went into the pen and grabbed a sheep. You can see one has already been shorn, the other not.

The sheep was big and strong, and it fought like mad. The poor couple had a time of it. You can see that the man's hat even fell off.

While the woman held the sheep, the man sharpened the scissors. Yes, SCISSORS! They had to do it the old fashioned way.

It takes about an hour to shear a sheep this way. I wanted to ask the man what kind of pain killer he takes when he gets home. He did most of it bending over. The sheep feel much better in warm weather with all the pounds of wool off their body. The pots over the fire were to boil the wool. They passed the wool around and it was sticky because it had lanolin in it. And no, nobody pulled the wool over my eyes.

“As a sheep led to slaughter, and quiet as a lamb being sheared, He was silent, saying nothing. He was mocked and put down, never got a fair trial. But who now can count his kin since he’s been taken from the earth?”

Friday

On Friday we took a short trip and did something we had never done before. Can you guess what it was by looking at these pictures?

The Easter House

We drove past this house the week before Easter, and I could not believe my eyes!! There were flowers everywhere, even out into the parking lot! We drove past it again today, and they are still there. None of these are for sale, this house just does a lot of decorating. Now I ask you, real or fake?

“Spring flowers are in blossom all over. The whole world’s a choir—and singing!”

Nervous At Hobby Lobby

Next to our parked car at Hobby Lobby, we spotted these two cuties. They were clearly nervous and shaky. But then, when is a Chihuahua not ...
