Dangerous Work

This is how they used to repair wires.

This is how they changed streetlights

And this is how prisoners were transported.

And just for fun, Lillian Russell was a huge star in the 1800's. Looks like there's hope for me yet!

A friend sent me a bunch of old pictures this week. So I picked these to show you. Maybe one day I will post some more.

“And why do you think I keep risking my neck in this dangerous work? I look death in the face practically every day I live. Do you think I’d do this if I wasn’t convinced of your resurrection and mine as guaranteed by the resurrected Messiah Jesus?

1 Cor. 15:30

Great post to remind us to appreciate the dangerous work those men back then and now the present ones were/are doing to make our lives more comfortable. Have a beautiful day, Ginny!

Perhaps if prisoners were transported that was they would be ashamed and not offence again.

Goodness, these are so interesting Ginny. You would have to have a good head for heights for those jobs. As for the prison transport, no words needed :)

Not for the faint of heart, was it?

Thanks for sharing these old photos with us. I don't think I would want to change streetlights back in the day.

Hi Ginny....I saw your comment you left for Mad Snapper [Sandra] and wanted to stop by and give you a big Texan Howdy.

Hope you two are doing much better, and I get to see you're posting more often. I'm gonna go catch up with your previous posts right now and then, add your url to my sidebar reading list.

"Welcome back to blogging"....even if this is a late note.
