The Tigers

The Tiger Lilies are blooming now! I can spot them from a distance because they grow upside down. And I am in a picture; can you find me?

There is a legend that says a hermit once saved the life of a wounded tiger. In the afterlife, the tiger became a Tiger Lily, and he spread his flowers everywhere searching for the hermit, who had died. He followed him even after death.

Tiger, tiger burning bright
In the forests of the night
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
William Blake

I got a satisfying laugh at your accidental selfie among the tigers! I love seeing those in yards and along roadsides on our summer trips to the Smokies.

Such beautiful lilies! The way they blossom is very unique. And that's an interesting legend behind the Tiger Lily!
