Update On Simba

If you're wondering why I haven't posted in awhile, it is because of Simba. The vet had to pull six teeth. When we got him home, his jaws were swollen and he would not look at us, sitting in front of us with his back turned to us.

By the second day he was home, his face and neck swelled up badly, and he would not groom himself. He stayed on the ottoman and would not walk around. Here he is before the swelling got too bad.

The vet said to bring him in immediately.

Coincidentally, their big bulletin board was all about Dental Month.

Turned out Simba was really sick! They had to admit him and keep him there. The vet removed his stitches to get at the infection, and gave him i.v's. He is home now, and back to his old self, but he really had me worried!

Some tortures are physical
And some are mental,
But the one that is both
Is dental.

Oh poor Simba. I hope he's feeling better now. That must have been very scary for you. Did they say why he was so sick? Did he get the infection when they pulled his teeth?
I'm not sure how long I had the cat I posted about today. I think it was maybe 5 or 6 years

Oh my gosh!!! Poor Simba. I do feel a lot of relief that he is healing and 'getting back to his normal self'. Yes, I can understand your worry.

Please, for me, give him a gentle ear scratch and tell him he's loved by many.

Glad all went well. Pets are just like children, if you have them you must take care of them. After we lost our last dog many years ago, I gave up having anymore pets. Too heartbreaking.

oh my goodness...poor little thing. I know you must have been so worried for him. I'm so happy he's better now and hope he continues to heal. don't animals makes us feel helpless at times kind of like when our children were babies and can't tell us what they feel.
hugs to you and Simba. :)

Oh gosh, poor sweet Simba! I'm sorry he got so sick after the dental. Maybe having six teeth taken out was too much burden for him :-(
I'm glad he is home now, and he is back to his normal self. I hope he is feeling 100% fine...and hopefully he doesn't have to go back to the vet for a while. xoxo
