A Bad Day

These look like two birds peacefully sitting on a branch, right?

WRONG!

This is a mom and her baby. The baby is the biggest one! And baby is hungry! He is pecking mom senseless for food!

Mom is trying to teach her baby how to feed himself. She finally flew away, and you can see how frazzled she is after being pecked senseless.

Meanwhile, Baby continues to chirp and flutter for food. A bad day for both of them!

Fantastic photos. Wonder if that huge chick finally fed itself?
Mothers have so much responsibility to ensure a future for their young ones.

Hahaha this is so cute and funny! Well, of course they don't think it's funny, but still :-) I've seen a baby demanding food like that, but at least he didn't peck his mom. I hope this big baby bird will eventually lean to feed himself! The last photo is so funny :-)

That baby bird looks like a Cowbird. They will lay their eggs in the nest of a smaller bird. This causes the smaller babies to die and the parasite Cowbird gets all the food. I know this is how nature works but I really dislike Cowbirds for that reason. They never tend their own babies.

How informative. I did not realize they would do this. Kinda sad in away. On my Outdoor Wednesday post this week, that lovely patio is not mine. It is my son's.

Ha! You captured nature!! I agree with Ruth, a baby cow bird. Yes, they steal other birds nests.
Great photos!
