Lost

We were driving down this road, and look what we saw coming toward us!

He was on his way to eat some plants on the roadside. Evidently, ones that weren't in his pasture.  Only about half grown, he didn't seem to mind losing the others.

The cow pasture was on the side of the road, but we could not see where he got out of the fence.

Hiding his face will not work. We can still see him!

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
J.R.R Tolkien

“You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.”

It does look kind of lonely.

I think it is starting to worry and wondered what happened to the others.

I bet he was thinking that leaving the pasture sounded like a good idea at the time. :)
I've never spotted any cows out on the road but I have gotten behind a horse that was out for a stroll on his own.

Thank you for these cute photos of the cow/half grown calf, and what a lovely sight to come upon. The grass is always greener on the other side of the hill :) Always enjoy your verses at the end of your posts too Ginny, I don't mention that often enough. Have a great day :)

Maybe he ws trying to decide which side of the road had the greener grass.

I think I prefer a lost cow over a lost sheep. he sure is cute.. I guess he knows the grass is greener on the other side of the road or fence

I am certain that the grass is so much greener there. It is unusual for it to leave the herd but maybe he got out and just couldn’t figure out how to get back inside it pasture.

I hope he found the way to his pasture!

My neighbor's cows get out from time to time. I was sitting in my living room one day when her cute Gurnsey bull looked in my window. Quite a surprise.

Looks like he had lots of choices as far as food was concerned. I have never been able to figure out, how they can get out of the fence, but not find a way in.
