Who'll Stop The Rain?

The city of Staunton Virginia flooded yesterday. This is in the valley where we live, we are about 15 minutes away. The water gushed so strong that it set off shops burgler alarms as it crashed open doors. Homes have partial foundation loss, and many stores had 4 to 6 feet of water inside and lost everything. We drove there to see today.

We drove past the giant flowerpot and watering can that my long time followers may remember seeing.

Mud & cleanup crews were soon spotted.

The water had torn up parts of the streets.

Here is the water line on one of the buildings.

The weather seems to be going crazy lately... like just about everybody & everything else in the world. And I don't understand any of it! I wonder what made this flood decide to happen, Ginny? Egads! Love, Andrea xoxo

That's so sad, but it isn't unexpected. Global warming is real and crazy weather is one consequence. :(

Yes, indeed that was sad... it must be scary to see the water at such a high level... stay safe, Ginny!

Oh how sad. This year has been rough enough and to now have damage from a flood.

Oh I'm sorry for people affected by the flooding. I hope the cleanup and recovery will go quickly.
Love the huge flower pot and watering can :-)

I love the giant watering can and flowers. Looks like that flood sure made a mess. Natural disasters seem to be occurring all over the place lately, it's just as crazy as everything else in our world lately!

Ginny, So sorry about the floods. That is one big fear I can not seem to overcome. It is sometimes the unseen damages, like weakened foundations and molds. Hope it can be cleaned uo quickly. We just had a fierce storm front leave thru here last night. I am thankful no damage other than leaves, twigs, branches around our area. But worse, so much worse in other parts of the midwest. Bless you, be safe, xoxo, Susie

That is sad about the flooding - such a pretty little community. It was from all the rain? You are right we should never forget who is in charge.

Wow...

Is this common for that area?

We had an earthquake (!) on Sunday. It is very, very uncommon here.

We've had a lot of rain recently, but nothing like this. I'm glad your city was spared the flooding.

How awful for people! I saw where parts of roads had been washed away, cannot remember if it was the Blue Ridge or Skyline. I'm thinking the Blue Ridge or maybe both in parts.

So sad to see this. Hope that things can get back to where they were as soon as possible. Take care, Ginny!

I'm sorry for all that damage from the flooding. We were supposed to have terrible storms last night, the radar looked awful. I was prepared to lose power, but then the storm mostly missed us.
I hope the clean up doesn't take too long.

I'm so sorry that's so terrible.
