A Prickly Sunset

Behold the humble Teasel. A common weed, but I think they are beautiful. Especially when they go to seed.

I have never seen those! How extraordinary and exquisite a weed they are! Purple is just about my favorite color. Also I am a big fan of Clare Boothe Luce. Our Dagny is middle-named Clare after her. She was a great conservative and a great writer. I have been twice to her grave at Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner, South Carolina ... xoxo

Yes, exquisite is the word for them. Thank you.

They grow around here too but I never knew the name. They really are pretty.
Good quote!

I don't know if we have Teasel here. They are very pretty and make good floral arrangements.

They are really pretty. It's a shame to call them a weed.

these are new to me, if you posted them before I don't remember them. they are gorgeous and I like these better than cultivated flowers... love the details. weeds are my thing. I see you are having no trouble uploading new headers each day. I tried to change Fourpawsetc and it put is like a postage stamp in the left corner... i am really upset about it

I agree, they are beautiful!

I spent too many summer days in the field getting thistles out of the corn to think of them as beautiful. You got good pictures, thouugh.

Oh how gorgeous!!!

Don't think I have seen these. And they are lovely.

They aren't the only flower, to be lovely, in seed form, too.

And what a gorgeous Blog Look, it all makes!

I always find it fascinating as to what humans call "weeds" and what they call "flowers", aren't you? This is a truly beautiful "weed". ~Andrea xoxo

Something new to me. Savored the variety of colorful day light images and the evening silhouettes.

Teasels are underrated, often maligned - and beautiful! I enjoy seeing them at any season.

That's a beautiful weed. I would leave it in my yard if it showed up there.

I've never noticed those before. They are really pretty, and the one shot where there's a bit of petals around the middle looks like it's wearing a mask.
