You've Got Mail

Drive-bys of some unusual mailboxes locally.

It seems a long time since the morning mail could be called correspondence.

I like the bird one and the ones shaped like houses the best. They're so creative. ❤️

These are fabulous. All of them are nicer than my plain black mailbox. I can't even decide which I like the best. I think the bird is the most unique of them all.

The mailboxes are all beautiful creations. We can't find such mailboxes here.

Always enjoy mailboxes that are different from the norm and usually says a lot about the people living in those houses and their interests. Loved these you shared.

Oh goodness.. my mailbox looks a lot like the second to last mailbox. :-)
My mom painted it and gifted it to me for Christmas.

I love decorative mailboxes. The ones you pictured here are darling, Ginny. I remember seeing them all over town at one point... but not so much anymore. Out here, where we live, mailboxes are sometimes the victim of drive-by people with bats! Not on our street because we're a dead-end but out on the thru-road they sure are. Sad. I remember painting mailboxes was big back when I was tole-painting. The ladies in our painting club were painting mailboxes all the time. They were a hit at craft shows too. Thank you for posting these. ~Andrea xoxoxo

I definitely agree with your ending quote...not very much correspondence in the mail for sure.
The mailboxes around your area are so unique and lovely. I especially like the one with the iris painting on it.
All we have around us are big ugly boxes for 12 families to come to and get their mail.
I miss it being delivered right to my house.
The good thing though is the chance meetings with neighbors as they get their mail too.

We all have such a personality. I like the one in the header....

Oh wow. I want the one with the butterflies! :)
Here, they've recently started to only deliver letters every other weekday. One week it's Mon-Wed-Fri, the next week only Tue-Thu. Not that it really matters all that much, I suppose - especially with the "fun" mail from abroad, as one never knows how long that takes to travel anyway. But still...

Those are some very interesting mailboxes. I like the idea of a decorative mailbox.

They are so fun! Ours is just a boring black one with our house number on it.

Wow... different designs and very nice too! As for mine, the letters are put into a slit in front of the house pillar.. no interesting designs such as these!

Soooooo cute!

And the first one, makes a lovely blog look!

My husband made ours, out of wood, years ago.

That quote is sooo true! More's the pity... Real snail mail letters... -sigh-

Gentle hugs...

Awwww I love the red barn, and the Amish carriage one! Our mailbox is stone ugly ... good thing it's embedded in a brick structure. xoxo

My favorite is the barn.

They all make a statement and it's a great idea to transform a utilitarian device into a talking point. Bravo!
