Ours started blooming over the weekend but it has been windy so the scent is not as strong as usual. Smells do trigger memories, it would be sad not to have a sense of smell or taste.SquirrelQueenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00634513897599275287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374840862168255424.post-41686360161572327702010-04-19T15:42:59.887-07:002010-04-19T15:42:59.887-07:00Btw..ya, that is sad about your friend..my dad als...Btw..ya, that is sad about your friend..my dad also mentioned he really lost his sense of smell too (he's 93yrs tough) Regina-Kilauea Poetryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10565265326716182821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374840862168255424.post-36995990725121628952010-04-19T15:37:49.484-07:002010-04-19T15:37:49.484-07:00This couldn't be more true..gorgeous photo ser...This couldn't be more true..gorgeous photo series!! I agree with you that smells really can provoke so many memories. I used to keep away from my grandads lilacs are there was always that buzzing sound around them and at that time I was so scared of anything that buzzed!

You probably wonder how I found you - well I was on Dawn treader's blog and I read some lovely comments you had written and I thought I should come over and say hello and introduce myself to you rather than lurk in the background. It's the reason I wanted to buy this house: there was a lilac tree. What a wonderful scent they have. Although after they bloom they don't look all that wonderful.
Enjoy their short season.
The licorice? I googled it because I was concerned about the potential sodium. You can buy it in stores where they specialize in Dutch and Scandinavian foods.Stephanie Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03206167025245206754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374840862168255424.post-56314276864363303552010-04-19T06:27:18.647-07:002010-04-19T06:27:18.647-07:00that is sad about the no smell or taste, stop and ...that is sad about the no smell or taste, stop and smell the roses or lilacs is so important. lovely lovely flowersMadSnapperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08163140037276496519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374840862168255424.post-53486461484913905162010-04-19T05:31:43.834-07:002010-04-19T05:31:43.834-07:00Oh nooooo....It's time for lilacs and I'm ...Oh nooooo....It's time for lilacs and I'm missing them?
