Farm Art

Awhile ago, we passed this farm store that was selling field rakes. Living surrounded by country and farms, there are a lot of farm stores around. They had a lot of these rakes in their parking lot, so we pulled in to look.

I thought"Wow, farm equipment art!"

Here are some that were in actual use.

“They’ll trade in their swords for shovels, their spears for rakes and hoes. Nations will quit fighting each other, quit learning how to kill one another.”

The Cedars

What are these people taking pictures of? Cedar Trees!

A few years ago, we went to a place that had many very old Cedar trees. They are frequently mentioned in the bible, and were used to build King Solomon's temple. Cedarwood oil was one of the first ingredients used in perfume, and the ancient Egyptians used it in embalming.

Have you seen any cedar trees?

“God’s trees are well-watered— the Lebanon cedars he planted. Birds build their nests in those trees; look—the stork at home in the treetop.”
Psalm 104

The Fall Tray

Right before spring, I got this two tiered farmhouse tray. It is in the kitchen, and I have been having fun decorating it for the seasons. Here is what I just did for Fall. It will be fun doing it for Christmas!

This little mushroom house even has a light inside!

Hiding

We saw her from a distance last week. We were so far away that she did not run, but she froze.

But wait! Someone had been hiding.

And now with the protection of Mom, comes just a bit forward.

Perhaps a quick snack is not too risky.

And with mom in front of him, he is emboldened to step out just a bit further.

“You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance.”

Sunday Sunset

I cannot remember when I snapped this unusual sunset, but it was not recently. See the reddish/pinkish line of haze in the foreground? I think it was some kind of illusion with the light. Not sure, I have never seen anything like it. Posted in order...

Tattoos

We passed this building several days ago when a man was painting it. I came back later to snap it. Can you believe it is a newly opened tattoo place? Our area has tons of them! What I can't figure out is, what possible connection do these images have to do with tattoos? They sure do not announce it as a tattoo place.

Do any of you have tattoos?

Skipping

Though many flowers are gone now, the Zinnias are all still blooming. Here are some of the palest pink ones. The skippers love them, and more than one will be on a flower. The meaning of this flower was started in Victorian times. They said it means thoughts of an absent friend.

“But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity.”

The Stand

The first pumpkin stand of the season is open! This one is my favorite because of the wall of pumpkins. It's in a really pretty locatio...
