Rising Up

The birds were rising up out of the fields, circling around, and going back down. Over & over...

“Our greatest glory is, not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”.

A Country Storm

We were driving on county roads today, and we could see the storm coming closer and closer as we drove through it. It had a large and dark beauty.

And of course, whenever it rains, there is always a wreck...

“Do you have any idea how God does it all, how he makes bright lightning from dark storms, How he piles up the cumulus clouds— all these miracle-wonders of a perfect Mind?”

Job 37

A Different Kind Of Treehouse

We passed this in someone's yard today. What a wonderful use for an old stump, I was totally enchanted!

Well, Well

There are a lot of wells in front yards around here.

This one is a working fountain. The water comes out the bottom of the can, and must recycle back around.

“The woman said, “Sir, give me this water so I won’t ever get thirsty, won’t ever have to come back to this well again!”
John 4

Golden

In the quickly fading golden evening, we watched this Blue Heron fish in a pond.

This is what was making everything golden.

“As gold comes from the northern mountains, so a terrible beauty streams from God.”
Job 37

A Country Sunset

Of course, after a moon post must come the sun! Here is tonight's sunset.

“As high as heaven is over the earth, so strong is his love to those who fear him. And as far as sunrise is from sunset, he has separated us from our sins.”

Psalm 103

The Crescent

The moon was pretty tonight, it was a crescent.

“May you have warm words on a cool evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to your door.” ~Irish Toast

Glossy

Did you know that you can make lip gloss? I found this kit in the store, and Anne Marie made several different kinds when she came over. There is a pot of the gloss base, and then you choose and add whatever colors and scents you want. It was a big hit! How often to you wear lip gloss or lipstick?

“For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.”

On The Highway

We passed this on the highway a few days ago. It is actually at the entryway of a garden center.

“There will be a highway called the Holy Road. No one rude or rebellious is permitted on this road. It’s for God’s people exclusively— impossible to get lost on this road. Not even fools can get lost on it. No lions on this road, no dangerous wild animals— Nothing and no one dangerous or threatening.”

Isaiah 35

Spooning

O.K., what's up with these spoons that McDonald's is giving out?  Here is the spoon that we each got with our ice-cream tonight. I cannot figure out the reason for the design! The handle is hollow, but it is not a straw because both ends are not open. There are holes in the back...well, see for yourself.

Jewels Of The Sky

The Goldfinches are here! They are so brilliant as thy flit about; they cannot fail to cheer me up.

“…like gemstones in a crown, catching all the colors of the sun. Then how they’ll shine! shimmer! glow!”

Blinded?

What have we here? Someone is coming to see us!

But look, he's wearing a mask! How can he even see us?

Well, actually this is a mask to keep the flies and bugs off his face. It is fine mesh and he can see right through it! Pretty cool, huh?

“In the next two or three hours Jesus healed many from diseases, distress, and evil spirits. To many of the blind he gave the gift of sight.”

Luke 7
