Solar Barn

I can't remember where we spotted this barn, but  it's a dandy! And look - it has solar panels on the roof! I have never seen that on a barn!

The use of solar energy has not been opened up because the oil industry does not own the sun.

Caffeine Rainbow

Most days, I have a little rainbow in my kitchen!

It is on the kitchen counter, and the brightness depends on how bright the sun is.

And exactly where is it? Right in the coffee corner! Can you see it down there in the lower left corner? It looks very dim until you get up close to it. The caffeine is enough, but this is an added bonus!

“When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth.”
Genesis 9

Ride Part 2 - The Flowers

Here are the flowers we saw on our ride. First, fields of Grape Hyacinth.

Wild violets are everywhere!

And at Lowe's, sweet Pansies. It's always fun to take a spin through their parking lot and see what flowers they have outside.

Even the pansies, with their dewy eyes, are ready to rival the violets now....

A Sunday Drive

We went for a drive today, to see signs of spring. Come along with us!
Many trees are in bloom.

Here's a Tulip Poplar just a few blocks away.

A row of Forsythia.

A classic car.

Weeping Cherry.

It was so warm that the cows were coming into the pond to cool off.

We saw lots more, but that is for part 2.

Between The Trees

It was a lovely evening for a drive. And soon to get lovelier when the sunset highlighted the jet trails.

“Trees are poems that earth writes upon the sky,
We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness.”

In The Pink

Pink makes me feel better, and we all need a little cheering up right now.
I snapped these here and there.

Deep Roots

Welcome to Rehobeth Mennonite Church, in the city of Schuyler (pronounced Skylar).

It is less than an hour away from us. And it is just down the road from the real house and museum of The Waltons, of the T.V. show. That was not their real last name, by the way. Their real name was Hamner.

Most of the church is covered with ivy. And you can see it's huge strong roots, embedded in the church. You might say it's a church with deep roots.

The Glitter

Did you know that there is glitter deep inside a chicory flower? I didn't, until I took it's picture.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

The Grandparents House

About 20 minutes from here, this house sits on route 11. It has magical things in front.

This is apparently all for the grandchildren.

Wild Violets

The wild Violets are growing in yards everywhere now! They are so sweet. We have quite a few in our yard, and I hate for them to be mowed d...
