A Southern Porch
This house is about three blocks away from us. I love how they matched their carpet to the flowers and the cushions!! Though the porch is little, it makes a big statement. I saw these cushions in Wal-Mart today. I would have bought them, but we have no porch.

Pretty In Pink
Tonight was the full moon. April's full moon is named The Pink Moon, because pink flowers are in bloom now. And indeed it did look pink, and then turned to orange! We watched it rise over the mountains. These are straight out of the camera, I did not change any of the colors.
“If hot red is for anger
and rage, then pink is the color of a soft burning — hot enough to light up the
dark corners of sadness and grief, but cool enough to be tender, innocent,
open. ~Ibi Zoboi”

The Fox
Look what Phil spotted while we were driving today! This fox was in a field on the side of the road. And he looks in perfect condition. I have been wanting to take a picture of a fox in the wild for a very long time, so I was excited! Just look at those gold eyes!
“Then you must protect me
from the foxes, foxes on the prowl, Foxes who would like nothing better than to get into our
flowering garden.”

Brick & Blooms
I happened to spot this down an alley we passed. I love the look of the forsythia up against the old burned out bricks.
“Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ
Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking
shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a
temple in which God is quite at home.”

Gazebo Sunset
We were sure in the right place at the right time!!
“The day The Dwelling was set up, the Cloud covered The
Dwelling of the Tent of Testimony. From sunset until daybreak it was over The Dwelling. It looked
like fire. It was like that all the time, the Cloud over The Dwelling and at
night looking like fire.”

The Play's The Thing
Last week our youngest granddaughter Jazz had a pre-school play. It was just a couple blocks away, so I was able to go! It featured nursery rhymes. Her face lit up when she saw us!
The boys seemed to be more distracted than the girls..
Even though these two little girls have spiders on their heads, they are so cute! They were performing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"
“That’s
what happens to all who forget God— all their hopes come to nothing. They hang
their life from one thin thread, they hitch their fate to a spider web. One
jiggle and the thread breaks, one jab and the web collapses.”

The Redbud & The Cross
As I sat in in the car in a parking lot, I happened to spy this in the distance. The Redbud here is just beginning to bloom.
This one is a few blocks away, and is the fullest one so far.
Nature, in all its wondrous glory,
Has produced much prettier things, for sure;
But, something within me moves each time
I feel the flowering redbud tree's allure.

I Am Back For Now!
I have been in the E.R. more times than I can remember, with one admission. And have taken so many different antibiotics. But right NOW, I am home! So I shall try posting again. Thank you so much to the ones who have been praying for me!! It means so much!!! My future is uncertain, but I do know that God is in control of it.
The birds have found our little teacup feeder! These are the House Finches, gorging themselves on seeds.

careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.”

Monday Update On Me
I went to see the chief colon surgeon today. He said that I am not healthy enough for the surgery. They will try to treat the recurrent diverticulitis with E.R. visits, hospital admissions, and drains if need be. The last resort would be emergency surgery. But then, I would be a REALLY high risk! So it seems they should do it now. I am still taking a strong antibiotic and may have to go back to the E.R. tomorrow. I DO plan on returning, as soon as I am better and off all the drugs! I love all my blog followers, and thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers!!!

Update On Me
I got home from the E.R. yesterday afternoon after being there 10 hours. I need part of my colon cut out, major surgery. But right now, I am too sick to have the surgery. I am on strong antibiotics, which are making me nauseous and other things. I am using a walker, and in bed a lot. So while I am on the antibiotic (10 days) I will not be posting or visiting. Just too sick. I see the head surgeon on Monday, and will update you after the visit. Feel free to e-mail me if you want. Hope to see each of you soon!!

Back ToThe E.R.
It is 5:30 A.M. and I have gotten another attack of diverticulitis. Since my colon perforated the last time, they may want to do surgery. I don't know when I will be back home. They have told me it is not a good surgery. I will be in University Of Virginia in Charlottesville. Hope to see you soon!

Through The Wires Thursday
There is at least one company in the valley that takes people on balloon rides. Looks like this one lit on a wire!
But it went right on past.
Have you ever been on a hot air balloon ride?
“In a rapidly ascending balloon were two men.
One watched the earth getting farther and farther away.
One watched the stars getting nearer and nearer.”

A Tea Party For The Birds
What is Phil doing?
He has just installed this! Do you know what it is?
It is a cute little shabby chic bird feeder! Our daughter-in-law gave it to me for my birthday! Leave it to her to find something so unusual. So now the birds can have a tea party, and I can snap them doing it!

careless in the care
of God. And you count far more to him than birds.”

Easter 2018
Because I was in the hospital, we only got around to celebrating Easter yesterday. Here are the girls on the hunt for eggs!
Back inside, the little ones wanted to do window clings.
Now to do Easter crafts at the table.
The little ones made these bunnies.
While Anne Marie made a spring wreath.
Here we all are on a clear but freezing day!!
“Let every man and woman count himself immortal. Let
him catch the revelation of Jesus in his resurrection. Let him say not
merely, "Christ is risen," but "I shall rise."

Winter In April
It snowed here yesterday. The day before, it was 80. So I am declaring it to be still winter! I took these picture yesterday!
This gives me the perfect excuse to post these winter themed donuts that our grocery store had.
“He spreads snow like a
white fleece, he scatters frost like ashes, He broadcasts hail like birdseed—
who can survive his winter?
Then he gives the command and it all melts; he breathes on winter—suddenly it’s spring!”
