Just Home From Hospital

I had to go to the hospital by ambulance several days ago. During my covid I got worse and worse, developed diarrhea, and stopped eating and drinking. Then I was unable to walk or almost even move. I was diagnosed with a dangerously low sodium blood count. They said if I had waited longer, I would have gone into seizures and could have died. I was admitted. Then my blood pressure dropped dangerously whenever I stood up, so I was not able to work on getting my strength back. I also got a bad infection. Just got discharged from the hospital and will be getting home health and P.T. Missing you all! I will be visiting when I get me strength back.

Sunaday Update

Been a long time since I posted or visited. I have never been this sick in my life. Feel like I'm barely hanging on. Hard to even walk. Both Phil & I took Paxlovid. It worked for him but not me.  He is all well now, but I have been getting worse, and will likely call the doctor again tomorrow. See you when I see you!

Covid

Thank you so much for all your kind and sympathetic comments. Today, both Phil & I were diagnosed with covid. We are feeling awful, and on Paxlovid. So I will be taking a longer than expected break, maybe even staying in bed. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanskgiving!

Simba

Today we lost our sweet beautiful kitty Simba. We have been in tears all day. Also, Phil has gotten sick. He is getting tests at the doctor tomorrow to determine if he has Covid. So this is an awful week for us. I will be taking a blog break to deal with everything. I will be back shortly, whenever I feel better. Simba used to sit by his food dish with one paw raised up asking for food. He was always a gentle boy.

Rest in peace, Sweet Simba. Your pain is over.

The C.V.S. Tree

This pretty tree is in the C.V.S parking lot. We were going through the drive-thru, so I had some time to snap it.

But look what happened. In some of my photos, the leaves turned out pink! No, I have not changed the color of any of the photos.

So some are red and some are pink. Could it have been the angle? Guess I'll never know, but it is kind of cool. See you later!

Keep calm and buy pink stuff.

A Cemetary Visit- Part 2

A Cemetary Visit - Part 1

We live only about two blocks from our small local cemetery. So we pass it almost every time we go out. I see we are passing it now.

Let's drive in and look around.

Stay tuned for part 2.

Oh Dear

This just happened a couple weeks ago, only a few blocks from our house. Seems this bulldozer had a mind of it's own.

From our local paper:

·        A man was killed Monday morning after an unoccupied bulldozer got loose from a construction site. It damaged the Oak Hill United Methodist Church and a nearby house. It ran over a member of the construction crew working on site. damaged the Oak Hill United Methodist Church and a nearby house..

Technology is constantly improving our lives. Look at the cellular telephone. Just ten years ago, virtually nobody was able to get into a car crash caused by trying to steer and dial at the same time; today, people do this all the time.

Yard Decor

These are some unusual or cute things in people's yards that we have passed.

Snail Mucous

O.K. you simply won't believe this! One of our granddaughters wants snail mucous for Christmas! Phil & I were stunned, then laughed. It is an ointment you put on your face that is supposed to help with many things. Snail mucous is that slimy stuff that snails excrete. Here is the product she wants. The snails are captured and poked, so they release mucous, then released!

COSRX Snail Mucin 96% Power Repairing Essence 3 Hydrating Serum for Face with Snail Secretion Filtrate for Dull Skin & Fine Lines, Korean Skincare

Anyway, my web research says it works!! But it still grosses me out. I should have known, since our granddaughter is studying to be a bioengineer. Here is what the web says.

It does appear that certain types of snail mucin have moisturizing and protective qualities that are good for your skin. Snail mucin contains antioxidants that may help reduce signs of aging like wrinkles, uneven skin tone and sagging. Studies indicate that snail mucin helps with skin regeneration and protects against damaging free radicals. The mucin also creates a protective barrier that keeps germs out to prevent infection.

All from this.

My Web Picks

Just some photos I found on the web that really appealed to me.

Believe it or not, there is not light at play in this photo. All the luminous parts are made by layering different colors of leaves.
