Going To The E.R. Again

How Easter Is Done In A Small Southern Town
The Big Gold Cat is all dressed and ready for Easter.
A living Easter Tree!
This lattice is leaning up next to a front door.
A well filled with spring flowers!
A front porch with bunnies and a goose. Wonder if he is laying the golden egg?

Snow On The Mountains
I took these pictures a few days ago. We do not live up in the mountains, we live at the base of them in a valley. We are bounded by the Blue Ridge on one side, and the Appalachian on the other side. This is the road we drive on to go to the grocery store. Snow is still on the mountains.
“As gold comes from the northern mountains, so a terrible beauty streams from God.”

The Doors Of Easter
Around here, people really decorate for the holidays. I snapped these pictures as we were driving on Sunday.
The Easter Vampire?
The Easter Skull?
“We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has
already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always
hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory,
standing tall and shouting our praise.”

SUNday - See The Heat
I took these sunset pictures a few days ago. Notice in this picture, the rays are rainbow colored.
In these next pictures, you can actually see the heat shooting upwards from the sun!! These are in order
“The One on
the Throne will pitch his tent there for them: no more hunger, no more thirst,
no more scorching heat.”

Me
I
was in the E.R. for almost 12 hours. Four doctors had a conference, and decided to admit me. But I objected a bit. So they all got their boss,
and he said admission could make me worse! So I am home with medicines. Surgery still could be somewhere in the future. Thank you all for your wonderful words of encouragement!
Here is the hospital I went to. I took all these shots at an earlier time.
On one of their walls.
The dreaded clear elevator in the center of the lobby. I've been on it so many times now that I am not quite as afraid of it.
The inner mechanism.
“When the sun
went down, everyone who had anyone sick with some ailment or other brought them
to him. One by one he placed his hands on them and healed them.”

Me & The Chickens
I am going to the emergency room in the morning. I have been on antibiotics for almost 6 weeks, but still have diverticulitis. So in case you don't see me for awhile, you will know I have been admitted.
Most of you guessed it! This is a fancy chicken coop! I think it is so cute! Quite a few people in the neighborhood have chickens, and sell the eggs to their neighbors. I think I will try some!

See, they even have a ramp for the chickens to walk up and down!

Child, we prize the Hen,
Whose Egg is Mightier than the Pen.”

Guess What?
The other night, we happened to drive by this in someone's back yard. Though it was dark, this little house was lit up red.
I was completely mystified. So in a few days, we drove by in the daylight. I soon found out what is really is. Now, can you guess? In my next post, I will show you more and tell you the answer!
“Jesus was
strolling in the Temple across Solomon’s Porch. The Jews, circling him, said,
“How long are you going to keep us guessing? If you’re the Messiah, tell us straight out.”

Mother & Baby Are Doing Fine
They are doing fine right now. But there is no telling when Phil will eat them. When I saw them in the grocery store, I just had to show you. They are attached, you see. I have never seen one like this. A pregnant tomato! And here I thought they came from seeds...
Gardening is cheaper than therapy, and you get tomatoes. ~Author Unknown

Ask The Animals
These are the new animal sculptures in front of the Virginia Children's Hospital. They were meant to be played with and sat on. My favorite is this fox.
The otter was designed to be a bench.
A little one was already playing with the bear and cubs. He's found some friends at the hospital now.
And this 7 foot rabbit is beautiful and shining.
“But ask the animals what they think—let them teach you;
let the birds tell you what’s going on.
Put your ear to the earth—learn
the basics.
Listen—the fish in the ocean will tell you their
stories.
Isn’t it clear that they all
know and agree
that God is sovereign, that he holds all things in his hand—
Every living soul, yes,
every breathing creature?”

How Green Was My Valley
We live in a beautiful green farming valley, with many barns. Some of them are green. So, for St. Patrick's Day, here are a few scenes from my valley. The Shenandoah Valley.
The next three are all the same barn.
A different green barn.
“Like valleys stretching out in the distance, like gardens planted by
rivers, Like sweet herbs planted by the gardener God, like red cedars by pools and springs, Their buckets will
brim with water, their seed will spread life everywhere.”
