The Kitchen

Since this is the first of December, I thought I would post a few of my Christmas decorations. Today I will do just the kitchen. This is in one corner.

Here is a closeup of the tray I did.

And the fox hanging over it. I get him at Wal-Mart for maybe around $5.00.

I made this wreath by just sticking a few floral picks in it. I wanted something I could keep up all winter.

This gnome and his tree sits by the stove.

My Pioneer Woman stand.

The coffee corner.

The kitty that sits above it.

The alpacas.

And alpaca mugs

A cabinet by the door.

This December,
That love weighs more than gold!...

A Real Lifesaver

Time to check in with my Lifesaver plant. This succulent got it's name because it's blooms look just like Lifesavers. Even though it is almost winter, mine is still blooming like crazy!

Here is the bloom once it is spent and dying. The pale ones on top are the new buds.

Another new bloom before it open, by my finger.

So there you have it. What an amazing plant!

Yellow & Brown

I snapped these photos of plants we happened to pass just a short while ago. They are  dead or almost dead. Yet in their own way, I find them beautiful and sad. Would you agree?

Sunday Sunset - Streets Of Gold

Driving home in the evening.

“The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

The Cutest Pumpkin

There is a nice display of pumpkins at the entrance of the garden center. And my favorite was the rare black & white one! But it was not for sale.

“Human beings are drawn to cats because they are all we are not – self-contained, elegant in everything they do, relaxed, assured, glad of company, yet still possessing secret lives.”

Home Of The Big Cat

I don't think I have ever showed you the home where The Big Cat resides, so let's have a look. It contains some interesting things.

A much smaller cat, which is a windspinner, rides his bike on the other side of the yard.

There is a cat weather vane!!

A Flamingo looks out from a hole in their big tree. Why? Not in keeping with the cat theme!

And last but not least, this beautiful stone chimney with a copper top. So there you have it, the Big Cat house tour.

Thankful

The Big Cat is ready for Thanksgiving! This year he is dressed very simply though, not like his usual wild costumes. He is focusing on being thankful.

I noticed a couple unusual things in the Big Cat's yard, and will show you in my next post. Happy Thanksgiving!

If the only prayer you say in your whole life is 'Thank You,' that would suffice.

~Meister Eckhart

The Early Birds

These photos are houses in our neighborhood that put their Christmas lights out early. WAY early, right after Halloween. So what is your opinion on the timing of decorative lights?

Sunday Sunset

Yes, these photos are all the same sunset, though it looks like two different ones!

A Full House

While waiting in line at the drug store drive-thru, I spotted this little House Sparrow. I usually think of them as common and drab. But my...
