Super Blue

I got shots of the Super Blue Moon tonight! So named because it is a blue moon (meaning there are two in one month), and super because the moon is much closer to the earth than usual. This won't happen again till sometime in the 2030's. We watched it rise over the mountains.

And for those of you who wanted an actual blue moon, I made that happen.

Through The Wires Thursday

It has been quite awhile since I have posted a "Through The Wires Thursday." Tonight we went out to snap the super blue moon, but it was too cloudy to see it. But all was not lost, as there was a beautiful sunset. The entire time, we were driving, so all these wires were in the way.

God hangs the greatest weights upon the smallest wires.

Bloody Amazing.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, if you laid out all of the blood vessels in the circulatory system, they would be about 60,000 miles long! Yes, I could hardly believe it! My pic and header are both from the web. Here is the blood vessel network.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

Grapes Of A Different Kind

The Grape Hyacinths have just finished blooming. I always love seeing them, as blue flowers are kind of rare.

Not technically a true hyacinth, this plant has a gorgeous flower color and is often used to adorn walkways and other ornamental areas. Grape hyacinths are a type of spring-flowering bulb that produces clusters of deep blue or purple flowers.

Yard Art

We live right by a couple of rivers, so kayaking is real big here. There are a lot of places around that sell them, and you see them driving by people's yards and garages. I think they make a bright and colorful yard decoration!

This one has a propeller on the end!

Hanging from the ceiling!

And this one was so hidden that I almost missed it. But on second look, I think it is a regular boat.

“Nothing but the sounds of nature and the kayak hitting the water. Overwhelmingly peaceful.”

Imposters

Just some beautiful Peonies with the sun shining on them. But wait a minute!! I found these in front of the Garden Center. But it is only right now, as I look closer, that I see they are not real!!! Look at the edges, they have some fraying and are fabric!! Plus you can see the weave in the fabric. Well, I NEVER! But I do wish I knew how much they cost.

Peonies At Dusk

White peonies blooming along the porch
send out light
while the rest of the yard grows dim.

Outrageous flowers as big as human
heads! They’re staggered
by their own luxuriance: I had
to prop them up with stakes and twine.

The moist air intensifies their scent,
and the moon moves around the barn
to find out what it’s coming from.

In the darkening June evening
I draw a blossom near, and bending close

search it as a woman searches
a loved one’s face.

Crepe Myrtle: The Pinks

For those of you who asked, my friend's surgery was a hip replacement, and she is home now and doing well. The Crepe Myrtles have been in bloom! Here are the pink ones.

Wild Violets

The wild Violets are growing in yards everywhere now! They are so sweet. We have quite a few in our yard, and I hate for them to be mowed d...
