“It is an unfortunate human failing that a full pocketbook often groans more loudly than an empty stomach.”
 ~Franklin Delano Roosevelt

What is your passion? Today I am talking specifically about materialistic passions. What do you love or collect that makes your day worthwhile? That you can't stay away from or get enough of.  Beside photography, mine is purses. I have been buying them for many years. Going into a store with a large purse department and looking and smelling the leather and vinyl will make me so heady I get faint. So I now have several drawers of purses that I have bought or friends have given me. But now many are not big enough or do not match anything. Because of this, today is my second purse giveaway. This one is a navy Vera Bradly in like new condition. It is small...10"x7". There are two stipulations to winning. You must be signed up as my blog follower, and you must leave a comment between now and Sunday at midnight. Tell me what your passion is and if you want this purse or not. The winner must provide me with her address within two days or I will draw again. I will announce the winner at the bottom of my Monday post. Good luck!

“Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list.”

Prelude To A Howling

"The sun is a great heart whose tremors run through our smallest veins. The moon is a great nerve center from which we quiver forever."
Unknown by me

Just minutes before the Full Wolf Moon rose, I was taking pictures of this setting sun. And though I had driven here to take pictures of the rising moon, this sinking sun astounded me. To me, it wasn't the extra to tag on, it was the star of the show.

“They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.”
Psalm 65:8

Hungry Like The Wolf

There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.
 George Carlin

There  was a full moon on Saturday night. At first it came up big and pink. Then the sky slowly got darker, and the moon got smaller and paler as it rose. I guess you could say it was a whiter shade of pale! The January full moon is called The Full Wolf Moon . It is because this month is so cold, and the wolves look for food in the light of the moon. Then they howl! Poor hungry wolves.

“They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat..”
Rev 7

On the outskirts of town, we happened to pass this building. It used to be a gas station. But what a difference now! What was going on? One...
