Sunday Sunset

This is a series of shots I took way back in September 2013!

The Hay

Seems like it has rained almost every day for well over a month. The news said tonight that this has been the second most rainy year in history. And yet, the hay is still out. Through all the rain and over all this time! And I don't know why. It is pretty, I just hope it is not moldy.

Some of it is covered up. I guess those bales will fare better.

They are equally pretty at sunset.

“You water the mountains from your heavenly cisterns; earth is supplied with plenty of water. You make grass grow for the livestock, hay for the animals that plow the ground.”
Psalm 104

A Harvest Evening

Here we are this evening at the drug store drive-thru.

And right beside the drug store on a small plot of grass were white tailed deer!

Not just one, but three!

They were right beside a busy highway.  And they were not alert to cars or people. They did not seem to care how close we got. I think they were extremely hungry; you can see their ribs.

After that we did some grocery shopping. A short time later, the Harvest Moon  rose!

“But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.”
Galatians 6

Dripping

One of the good things about rain is seeing the plants look like this.

“Knowledge flows like spring water from the wise; fools are leaky faucets, dripping nonsense.”

Proverbs 15

The Last Shout

I could hardly believe my eyes when we passed this pizza place last week! It is now Fall, and we have needed to run the heat today. It has been dreary, grey, and raining for so long. But look at these Mandevilla! Surely this is one last shout before the cold weather finally settles in.

“Now that we have actually received this amazing friendship with God, we are no longer content to simply say it in plodding prose. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus, the Messiah!”
Romans 5

Night Comes In

I snapped these last week as we drove home.

Night comes in like some cool river
How can there be another day?
Take my hand, oh real companion
And we’ll dance, dance till we fade away

First Day Of Fall

Today is the first day of fall! This means it is the autumn equinox, Are you sad or happy to see fall, and why? I will really, really miss the LIGHT!! It is already getting dark much earlier.

I can smell autumn dancing in the breeze.
The sweet chill of pumpkin and crisp sunburnt leaves.

Wild Violets

The wild Violets are growing in yards everywhere now! They are so sweet. We have quite a few in our yard, and I hate for them to be mowed d...
