Tuesday Phil Update

Hi to everyone!! You are true friends to me, and I cannot tell you how much your comments and prayers mean to both of us!

Now for our update. Yesterday, we went to the surgeon's office. The good news is that Phil does not have an infection! But there is a hole in his incision. The nurses taught me how to clean, pack, and bandage it twice a day. They even gave me a bag with all the supplies, including surgical scissors and tweezers and sterile gloves. They also will be sending Home Health out twice a week. If all goes well, the hole will be healed in ten days. And Phil should be healed by mid to late July. I think of you all every day! And I plan on returning when we have gotten rid of this hole. LOVE to you all!! I miss you all! I am wondering what is going on in your lives.

Ginny, you are well loved by myself and many others, my cherished friend. Thank you so much for sharing this update, and I will continue to keep both yourself and Phil in my prayers. It is nice that the nurses showed you what to do and even gave you the supplies to do it with. Much love and hugs to both of you.

Dear Ginny, I read all of your updates on Phil and glad that he is doing better.
Please take care of yourself as well. It is so difficult on the caretaker and I know that often you feel like you should be doing something other than rest; but it is so important for you to keep up your strength for both of you.
I am keeping you and Phil in my prayers. xoxo Catherine

That's great news that there's no infection. Sounds like you are getting quite the education in nursing :) Be sure to give yourself a little pampering in there too. We'll be here when you're ready to come back. In the mean time take care of yourself and Phil and know that I'm thinking of you and wishing you well

Oh, Ginny, I am so sorry I have been MIA for these many weeks and didn't know about Phil's surgery. My computer is finally fixed, and I will be checking on friends more often.

Well a hole does not sound good but at least it is not infected, and you know what you need to do to care for it! You both must be exhausted. Hoping for much healing!

Thanks for the update, and I'm glad there's no infection. Good that you will get some professional housecalls as well - I imagine that if nothing else that makes one feel safer when one is not really a trained nurse oneself. Keep up the good work! :) Oh, and another postcard is on its way... Remains to be seen whether it travels fast or slow!!!

I am sure glad it wasn't an infection...not that a hole is good. Just both of you take it easy. And get rested and healed.

Hi Ginny, must admit that I have been away from the blog for a bit doing other things and was horrified to find that you have been having this awful time. I do hope that all goes well for you both from now on, my prayers are with you both.
Thanks for continuing to play the Scrabble with me Ginny, really appreciated especially when you have other things to get on with.

Lots and lots of love
