The Train

We happened to pass this wonderful train painted on a cinder block wall. I find nothing more mournful than the long, low whistle of a train at evening time.

The year leads round the seasons, in a choir
For ever charming, and for ever new,
Blending the grand, the beautiful, the gay,
The mournful, and the tender, in one strain...

Trains have always sounded lonesome to me. However, I enjoyed riding on one once upon a time. You find so many neat things. I have to got to get out since the weather is better.

I agree, you hear a lone whistle off in the distance [when night is dark and moonless]....it is a lonely sound. But still I love it when I hear them.

What a great Find Ginny!!

ps...and the alligator "BOOTS" is names so because the skin can be made into boots. And the female there in the refuge is named BAGS. As in alligator purses.
