Preparing

The squirrels were going nuts today! Possibly eight on each street, running back and forth in a frenzy. They were like this all through the neighborhood. I had never seen them like this!

And then it hit me! It is to snow today, and they KNOW it! In much the same way animals can predict an earthquake. They were madly running around preparing for the snow storm!

He looks like he is praying to make it through the snow.

“Think of the fierce energy concentrated in an acorn! You bury it in the ground, and it explodes into an oak! Bury a sheep, and nothing happens but decay.” ~ George Bernard Shaw

So it was the squirrel version of running to the grocery store for milk and bread then. When it gets cold and snows I feel sorry for all the animals that have to live out in it.

I was thinking the same thing as Ann's comment! My emergency supply always includes peanut butter. I'm nutty about PB&J's

These are wonderful shots of the squirrels in a frenzy before the snow hit!
Their intuition is God-given!
Hope you are safe and well stocked up with provisions!

It looks as if you have as many squirrels around your house as we have around ours.

Even the squirrels know how to stock up food for the winter! They can sense and know when the weather is changing!

So adorable! And snowing it is! Even here, we started at 9 this morning and they say it will continue till at least 9 tonight! Hope the squirrels are having as cozy a day as we are!

We have had a larger group running and playing lately. Guess it comes with change in the weather.

It seems that the animals and birds can predict a coming storm better than many weather forecasters.

Those photos of the squirrels are precious. And they are right - the snow is coming your way!

Well I love their determination to get acorns before the snowfall=pretty cute. We did have about 1 1/2 inches of snow Sat and Sun--not too much. We are far below our winter average of about 28".

I thought the same thing about the grocery store but we need the weather man to tell us, they know it instinctively, lol... nice pics. hugs, lj
