The Mimosa trees are in bloom now. Their small is divine! I think the blooms look like tiny feather dusters. Do you have them where you live? Of course a big wire is ruining this shot.
The
Mimosa’s fern-like leaflets are very sensitive and close up when touched, at
nighttime, or when it rains. In Asian languages, common names refer to this
habit of leaves closing at night. For example, some translations for the mimosa
tree’s common names include “sleeping tree,” “shut happy,” and “night sleeper.”

It is gorgeous Ginny! Such a beautiful and exotic tree. Great photos!
How pretty that is. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that around here.
Pretty!!
Love these trees, not a fan of the blooms that drop off though. Pretty shots.
Such a beautiful tree! We do not have them around here unfortunately!
I grew up around a lot of Mimosa Trees. When we were kids, we loved touching the leaves and watching them close up. The flowers are so pretty!
I don't think we have any mimosa trees in our area...at least I don't think I've ever seen one. But boy, they sure are beautiful, Ginny! ~Andrea xoxo
No, we do not have them here in my neck of the woods. They do look pretty. :-)
So pretty and feathery.
They kind of look like BottleBrush.
Sue

We do have them, but I did not know they were called that.
They are very pretty. Of course they do not grow where I live.
We don't have those trees here. They are sure pretty!
I don't think I've ever seen a mimosa tree, so I can only imagie the lovely smell. No we don't have them here.
This is a really cool looking tree. No, I haven't seen them up here in the mountains. Isn't that strange that the leaflets close up when touched? The blooms are such a pretty color.
