The Plant

I added a new plant to my collection! Now, can you guess what it is? Here is my mysterious clue. It is not common, yet it is common. It can be hard to find.

“We may think we are nurturing our garden, but of course it’s our garden that is really nurturing us.”

– Jenny Uglow

I don't know what the plant is, but I love that quote. It reminds me of a piece about a dog adopted from a shelter, "I rescued a human today." There's a lot of truth to that. Apparently people in assisted living live longer if they have a plant to take care of. We need to be needed, to make a difference.

The foliage looks fantastic! I used to see these in supermarkets a lot. Now they are not where to be seen!

I don't know this plant but it is a beautiful plant to add to your collection. The quote is true. It works both ways.

hmmmmm, I'm not really good with plants, so this one puzzles me. But I can't wait to find out. I really like that quote, and it's so true. Our gardens are a calming place for us, and it's nice to dig our hands under the earth sometimes. : )

**thank you, Ginny, for checking out Nel's stories, and for your encouragement. She will appreciate that. She's been wanting to write a children's book for a long time, so I'm sure she is pleased to release the first three chapters on a podcast.

Happy first day of September!
