I don't know if I have ever encountered this tree before. But it sure was a special moment when we happened to pass it!!
It is called The Golden Rain Tree. The seed pods resemble small Chinese lanterns and remain on the tree well into the fall.
It was a quite magical sight for me.

This tree is so unique and beautiful...I've not heard of it before, but I'm sending a picture to Sam to see if he is familiar with it...If not, I know some of his Nursery friends will be. He has several growers up in your similar area that he is in contact with each week. Love the quote.
due to drought ours died, as did most of everything in they yard. they are gorgeous and this one is really pretty
