To Such Great Heights

I happened to look up the other day and saw this.

He was the same color as the roof, so hard to spot. And he seemed to be looking for a way down!

A vent pipe. Good place to stop for a head scratch!

The hunt for a way down continues.

He then disappeared around the edge of the roof and we did not see him anymore. How did he get up there? How did he get back down? Here is the front and back of the house. Maybe those trees in the front...

🐾  He tiptoes where the shingles sigh,

A shadow stitched against the sky.

Too high for paws, too bold for fear,

He owns the edge, the wind, the sheer.

Hmm, how did he get up there? Surely if he could figure out how to get up there he can figure out how to get back down. I hope he did find his way back down.

Poor kitty! I do hope he was able to get down from that roof, Ginny. Lovely photos and poetry here. Thank you for sharing!

He's a big guy. At first I thought it was a mountain lion. Those cats seem to wander around the neighborhood, but I never saw one on the roof before. I'm sure he got off safely. They live in the nature, so adapt well to it.

Have a restful weekend Ginny.

The curiosity of a cat....usually gets them in trouble every time! Why don't they remember how they get up....so they can get down the same way??!!! Love, Andrea xoxo

My outdoor cats years ago would get on the roof as well. Reminds me of movie: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which had nothing to do with a cat.

Great series of photos, and a good question as to how he got up here and back down.

Ginny, I do wonder just how he got up there and if he was able to get down. Animals amaze me.

Great picture getting the cat on the roof. I've seen KitKat up on his roof before too.

I love this, cats are crazy! I see them on roofs on our walk but not this tall, and they have easy access. I once saw a cat sprawled out holding on hiding from a hawk that was high up and screaming. I tried to shoot the hawk, and told the cat to run and get down and hide... the hawk did not get her, she is still out when we walk.
