Think Pink!

 Washington D.C. just had it's Cherry Blossom Festival. I always try to post it every year, from our T.V., of course. There was so much to see that I will be dividing it up among at least three posts. This one focuses on the activities and dancing.

Memorial Day 2026

 I hope you are all having a good day with family and friends and take a moment to remember those who lost their lives for all of us.

The stores were all prepared for the day.

These little bags of flowers were so cute. They each had a tiny Uncle Sam hat inside.

When all the boxes of beer are stacked up, they make an American flag!

Even the energy drinks were celebratory

And so it goes out and about on Memorial Day Sunday.

Not Chicken To Review Chicken

 About a week ago, we drove through Raising Cane's chicken fingers restaurant. Do you have any where you live? Here is their menu.

This Garlic Bread was by far the best thing on the menu.

The chicken fingers and sauce were good, the fries were terrible!

This was on the side of the wall. A dog and a fish! I was curious.

Turns out the dog was the founder's yellow lab named Cane.

The fish is a story for another day.

Garden Cuties

 Another trip to the Garden Center. I didn't buy anything, but there were plenty of cool things to look at. I'll start with this fat pig.

It's Done!

 Here is the partially done mural that I posted a couple days ago.

Today it was finished! The colors of the flowers and clouds, plus bees, all painted.

This is the cart that the painters have been using. It can adjust to go up and down as needed.

I love her bees. I think they are so accurate.

Sunday Sunset - Straight Lines

 I liked the way the clouds alternated colors in horizontal straight lines.

Street Art

Every year our city has a "Street Art Festival". Artists paint murals on many buildings in town. And there are activities, tours, music groups, and markets. And it is this weekend! But one mural had to be started early, so here is a sneak peek!

The mural is only partially done, to be finished this weekend. See where the rest of it is penciled in on the upper part of the wall? This one is called "The Little Things".

Chickens Impossible

 The local quilt museum has a showing called Chicken Impossible. It is a display of the work of quilters creating whimsical chickens. I saw a preview online.

The one is called Gogh Van Cluck

The Lantern

My Mother's Day gift was this solar lantern!

It has a stained-glass dragonfly. It has both a solar panel and a battery. And it even came with the long crook to hang it from outside.

Here it is when it is lit up for the night.

I had always wanted one of these outside solar lights, and was so surprised!
