Come with me on a trip to Arbys! No, I do not go for the food. In fact, my doctor told me I cannot eat red meat anymore. I don't miss it all that much, and after just watching the movie "Food Inc.", I am mighty glad to not be eating it anymore. Did I tell you little Anne Marie has become a vegetarian? She decided at age 7, after a fateful day at Chick-Fil-A while looking at their signs. They made her realize that she had been eating something that had been alive. And after a year, she has still stuck to it! In fact, I still eat chicken and fish, just no beef or pork. But Arbys has some mighty fine potato patties! Anyway, as you can see, I come to Arbys to marvel at the yellow trees. I don't know what they are, but they make me feel better than the beef. I hope I haven't offended any meat eaters out there...meat gives you iron, so rock on!!!
“God spoke to Moses, “I’ve listened
to the complaints of the Israelites. Now tell them: ‘At dusk you will eat meat and at dawn you’ll eat your fill
of bread; and you’ll realize that I am God, your God.’”

Proud of you for watching your health. That is SO important. We still eat a little red meat --but not much. Have to have a steak every once in awhile...
I could never be a vegetarian. Love meats TOO much... BUT--overall, we eat quite healthy and stay away from the fast food about 90% of the time--or more....
Beautiful trees. Looks like the Aspens looked in the Fall when we were there.
Hugs,
Betsy
Ginny, Anne Marie is wise beyond her years. Red meat is something I have to be extremely careful with, as I have had several attacks with gout. As a result I hardly ever eat it. Trust me, you won't miss it. Your photos are lovely!
I am proud of both of you for watching the foods you put in your body.
No one should be offended because it is your right to do that!
Love the beautiful (fall) leaves.

Oh, so young and she wants to be vegetarian? she really is a caring girl....
Yes, I also want to cut down red meat.. white meat should be fine.. and eat more greens.. I am turning to be green too.:)
making dietary changes isn't always easy. Good for you.
Pretty
The trees are so pretty. I'm still waiting for our forsythia to even get buds so I can see that bright sunshiney color
I could not eat meat for a while after reading a book, which told lots of bad things about meat. But I began to eat it again after all. Anne Marie decided to become vegetarian? She is such an amazing girl! I couldn't make such decision when I was so young.
The yellow trees are beautiful. Happy Monday!
those trees are worth the trip with no eating at all. did the doc say give up pork to? or just beef. we have been discussing if pork is better than beef or the same. i can relate to Anne Marie... i eat very little meat..
Hi Ginny, Glad you are feeling good and you are taking time out for you. We need "me" time but don't forget to post as we will miss your wonderful imagination and your spiritual guidance. LJ
I have thought about giving up red meat someday. Those trees are absolutely amazing!!
I love those yellow trees! Beautiful.
My hubby is a meat lovin' man, but I'm try to cook more fish and chicken than beef or pork. I'm getting very leery of the hormones and stuff they pump into meat these days. Have a nice day!
Oh how I wish I. Could get the Pres to kick red meat!!!...:)JP
I love yellow trees. Those trees are so beautiful.
Glad you are feeling good.
Wish you all the best :)
Those trees are so pretty.
Pretty trees! I was vegan for 3 years, but then my B-12 levels were so low (despite supplements) that I had to spend a year w/ a neurologist to get them back up. He suggested that veganism didn't agree with me. So now I eat meat, but still incorporate many vegetarian and vegan meals.
I am a firm believer in things in moderation. i don't eat a lot of red meat but really like it as does my Hubby.
Just make sure Anne is still getting all of her vitamins for her growing body.
Happy you are feeling better and the trees are lovely.
We don't eat a lot of red meat, but an Arby's roast beef sandwich tastes pretty good every once in a while. But I agree with you about the potato patties.
Surely I am not the only person that orders a hamburger...cut the meat!!
I love fish and absolutely LOVE shrimp and crab meat. But....that is it for me!! I do not like beef at all! I know that we all need a little red meat, but it sure is hard to swallow!! lol.
Just give me pasta, veggies and salads and I'm a happy camper...
I could very easily be a vegetarian. I eat chicken or fish occasionally. So glad you are doing better. I get concerned when you do not drop by now and then.
Those trees are gorgeous!
We have cut back way on red meat and eat more fish and chicken. I could easily be a vegan but hubby can't give up meat at each meal.
These are beautiful pictures!! The yellow is just so very pleasing to the eyes!!
Have a lovely day Ginny :)
Good for you for being ablevto go vegetarian. Be sure to get all your daily doses of Vit :)
I like a good juicy steak now and then...but would much prefer chicken when I have to cook. LOL
I can see why you like this Arby's...the yellow leaves?----is that a year 'round thing? Amazing.
...and there ARE some great tasting veggies in this world of ours that gives you plenty of iron.
I did not eat much meat most of my life...now I eat a lot more. Arbys sure has a pretty tree
Those yellow trees are just gorgeous. My friend I used to work with had a daughter who did the same thing and is still a vegetarian to this day.
The trees are gorgeous- I wonder what they are? I don't think I could be a vegan, but I don't eat meat like I used to.. except for bacon...yeah..bacon and I are great friends.
Hope you are well Ginny, its good to see you posting again,
What wonderful yellow trees.
As for the meat, I am seriously considering giving up meat. We were veggies for several years and slipped back into eating it but we are going to give it another try.

Veggies taste better to me now that I am older...I am hoping i can follow your lead and give up the red meat. I beautiful trees. :)
I have been going back and forth about meat. ...so a few weeks ago I decided to give it up . That lasted only five days! UGH! I became so weak. I am going to try again but this time, I will really research healthy non preservative alternatives. Good to see you blogging again Ginny!
Blessings, Joanne
Keep up the good work on your health. Those trees are something. They remind me of the delicious yellow of hard candy lemon drops.
